Class 4 have continued their studies on South Africa and were lucky enough to be visited by an art teacher who helped them to create an African inspired piece of work. The children loved their art session and created a beautiful collaborative piece of art work. This will be put on display ready for our annual art gallery which will take place in July. ποΈπ¨πΌοΈ

Today the juniors had some very special visitors. 30 authors came to read their books to the children. Class 2 have worked incredibly hard and written their very own information booklets on animals that live under the sea! They had to do lots of research, drawings and fantastic writing to make their booklets. They then came and read to all of the junior classes. Well done Class 2, they were amazing!ππͺΌπ π¬ππ³ππ¦π¦π¦π¦π¦π¦

This week the children in Class 4 received another VERY special letter from⦠his majesty the King! They also sent him some letters about farmers being treated fairly and how they wanted to do something to help them. They were very excited to receive such a letter! I have never received a letter from the King before, so they must have been very persuasive! Well done Class 4 for working together to make a change!

Today, Class 4 were visited by Mrs Miller, who spoke to the children about South Africa and Apartheid. The pupils learned about the rich culture and beauty of South Africa, sampled some traditional food, and explored how apartheid affected the lives of so many people.
The children also learned about the meaning of βUbuntuβ which means βI am because we are.β This philosophy links closely to our St Chadβs values, reminding us that we are shaped and supported by one another. Ubuntu encourages mutual respect, empathy, and kindness, qualities our pupils demonstrate every day. Following todayβs visit, the children are inspired to continue showing Ubuntu in their own lives.
Todayβs visit truly brought the curriculum to life, and we are very grateful to Mrs Miller for sharing her knowledge and experiences with us. πΏπ¦πΏπ¦πΏπ¦
