🥋NEW Martial Arts Classes at St Chad’🥋

We are so excited that Shinpo Martial Arts are now offering new classes right here at St Chad’s on Monday evenings!

Our children already enjoy their fantastic Martial Arts Breakfast Club every Wednesday morning, and these new sessions are a brilliant opportunity for them to continue developing the skills and movements they have started to learn.

The classes will introduce new skills, help children build their confidence and allow them to develop a deeper understanding of Martial Arts all while having fun and keeping active! 🥋

And it’s not just for children! Shinpo Martial Arts offer both children’s and adult classes, making these the perfect sessions to attend alongside your child. Learn together, practise together and make some brilliant memories along the way! ❤️

There are also adult-only classes available for those who would like to give Martial Arts a go for themselves.

A HUGE thank you to EVERYONE who shared, liked and reacted to our social media experiment post! 💻🌍

Year 5 were absolutely blown away to discover that their post had reached over 40,000 views and travelled to so many different countries around the world!

What started as a classroom experiment became a brilliant real-life lesson about how quickly information can travel online, and the importance of thinking carefully about what we post, who can see it and how far it can spread.

Thank you for helping us bring such an important lesson to life! ❤️

We’re so excited to be taking part in the Scarecrow Trail around Heapey and Wheelton this week! 🌾

There are 42 scarecrows to discover, and we can’t wait to see the village filled with heroes and villains! 🦸‍♀️🦹‍♂️

The trail costs just £2 per person, which includes a map and the chance to follow the trail and crack the code! 🗺️🔎

There will also be stalls and refreshments at the Heapey and Wheelton Village Hall, making it the perfect family day out to explore the village, have some fun and make lots of lovely memories together. ❤️

And, of course… who can guess what our St Chad’s scarecrow will be?! 👀🌾

WE STILL NEED YOUR HELP!!!!!! 📣

Today is the LAST DAY to like, share and interact with our original post!

During their Internet Safety lesson tomorrow, Year 5 will be looking at just how far their posters have travelled and how quickly things can spread online. 🌎📱

The children have been checking in each day and have been absolutely overwhelmed by the number of comments, likes, shares and views their posters have received!

This is a brilliant real-life way for us to show the children just how quickly something shared online can reach people far beyond our own school community and why it is so important to think carefully before posting anything online.

So PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE like and share the ORIGINAL POST even if you have already done so! Every interaction helps us make this lesson as meaningful as possible for the children.

📱💻 WE NEED YOUR HELP! 💜

This afternoon, Year 5 have been learning all about staying safe online and, in particular, the importance of thinking carefully before sharing images.

We talked about how something we post online can sometimes travel much further than we ever intended. Even something shared with a small group of people can quickly be passed on, copied or shared around the world. 🌍

To put this to the test, our Year 5 children have created their own Internet Safety posters! They are going to help us demonstrate just how quickly something posted online can spread.

We would LOVE your help! 👀

🌾🎃 St Chad’s is taking part in the Heapey & Wheelton Scarecrow Festival! 🎃🌾

We hope you can all join in this fantastic community event and see if you can work out who our mystery scarecrow is… hero or villain? 🦸‍♂️🦹‍♀️

For just £2, you can take part in the scarecrow trail, which will take you around the village as you spot the scarecrows, explore the local area and make some lovely family memories along the way. ❤️

And that’s not all! There will be lots to enjoy at the Village Hall, including a pizza van 🍕, toy stalls 🧸, sweet stalls 🍬 and much more!

It’s a brilliant opportunity to get out, support our local community and have some family fun.
