So first sneak peak of silicone painting.

A couple of things I’ve learned so far:

1) this is like painting with honey. It’s super thick.
2) I’m onto what I would normally consider skin layers, but it doesn’t seem to be covering, given that your adding in so much product you can’t layer like normal.
3) DUST!! Keep tweezers handy. The place was cleaned and I keep everything under a plastic box lid but still the piece is blighted by small hairs and all sorts.
4) seams… not as easy as they look and I’ve left most of mine, trying to fix them made it look worse.
5) unlike with vinyl and heat set, if you make a mistake, there’s no going back. Those little splashed or droplets that go on and are missed, nothing is getting rid of them. And with the rubbish skin coverage, there’s no covering them either.

This is such a challenge. Onto the back skin and then creasing, blushing.

So my next challenge has started. I bought I silicone. Not one to sell, for my little girls birthday.

A new medium, a new challenge. Let’s hope I don’t mess it up.

First time using alpaca hair for rooting and it’s SO soft and looks great! Difficult to work with because of how soft it is but gave a great result!
