Last night we welcomed prospective parents and students to the Eltham College Sixth Form Open Evening. Alongside talks from the Headmaster, Head of Sixth Form and subject-related sessions, visitors had the opportunity to engage with current Sixth Form and hear about their experiences of our Career Learning and Excellence Programmes. So much of what they had to say related to the amazing support of our alumni community, from mentorship and mock interviews, to work experience, admissions test preparation and inspirational talks in school.
So thank you to all our wonderful OEs - you are what makes our provision beyond the curriculum truly exceptional. We really couldn't do it without you. (And if you'd like to get involved in future initiatives, please visit www.Elthamians.Network and update your profile as 'Willing to help').

Yesterday we welcomed over 50 of our incredible alumni community to engage with Lower Sixth Form as part of our second annual Speed Networking Event. It was a fantastic afternoon for students and OEs alike, and from the feedback already received, it will clearly become a popular feature of our Career Learning Programme for years to come. Thank you to everyone who took part, and if you’d like to get involved next year, please do get in touch.
LOWER SIXTH FORM SPEED NETWORKING EVENT - WE NEED YOUR HELP
In less than two months, we will be hosting our second Speed Networking afternoon for Lower Sixth Form students. It is fair to say that the inaugural event last Summer was one of the most successful careers initiatives we have ever hosted in school, with both OEs and students thoroughly enjoying the opportunity to meet each other and engage in career-related discussions.
With the next event taking place on 20th June, we'd love to hear from any OEs who would be willing to take part. Please contact our Head of Careers and Post 18 Options, Louise Badelow, to find out more: [email protected]
U13A BOYS HOCKEY SQUAD CROWNED KENT U13 CHAMPIONS!
We are very proud to announce that the U13A Boys Hockey squad won the John Maylam Cup at Canterbury Hockey Club last week. The squad sailed through the group stages, scoring 12 goals across the three matches without conceding, to earn themselves a place in the afternoon’s knockout stage. The team upped their levels further in the afternoon, stringing three fantastic performances together, dominating the ball and creating numerous opportunities on their way to securing the trophy and their status as Kent Champions. This was a fine reward for the team, who have trained brilliantly throughout the year and developed wonderfully as a squad.
Impressively, this saw Eltham College as Kent U13 Champions for the third year in a row, a remarkable achievement that highlights the exciting talent across the hockey programme.
Huge congratulations to our hockey team: Hunter, Ralph, Joseph, James, Cassius, Holden C, Thomas, Henry, Leo and Holden M.
ELTHAM COLLEGE STUDENT SELECTED FOR THE ASTRO OLYMPIAD SELECTION & TRAINING CAMP
We are very proud to announce the brilliant accomplishments of Upper Sixth student Atharv, who recently demonstrated his exceptional skills and knowledge in physics and astrophysics.
Following an outstanding performance in the first round of the British Physics Olympiad, where he secured Gold and ranked among the top 5% of participants, Atharv was also awarded a Gold in the second round.
In addition to this remarkable success in physics, Atharv also participated in the second round of the Astrophysics Olympiad where he achieved another Gold. These exceptional achievements have earned him a spot in the Astro Olympiad Selection and Training Camp at the University of Oxford! This prestigious opportunity could potentially lead to his selection to represent the UK in international competitions, underscoring his status as one of the top physicists in the country for his year group.
We are immensely proud of Atharv’s achievements and we wish him all the best in aiming to be selected for the UK team.
