BETHANY HUNT

Tomorrow we will be joined at Summer School by for our Contemporary dance workshops!

Bethany trained in Classical Ballet at The Hammond School on a full Scholarship. She then proceeded to train in Musical Theatre at Bird College.

Her first job aged 19 was with Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures Company. After this her career continued mostly in Street dance and Commercial dance styles. Bethany’s credits include dancing at the Brit Awards and Britains Got Talent for Music Artist’s such as P!NK. She has recently been working in the film industry for production companies such as Universal Pictures and Amazon.

Bethany has taught Dance at numerous School’s including: Birmingham Royal Ballet, Arts Ed and D and B Academy.

We are thrilled that Bethany is able to join us for our Summer Course and know that everyone will have an incredible time!

PERFORMING ARTS SUMMER COURSE

Italia Conti Chislehurst bring you their fun-filled “MAGIC” themed Performing Arts Summer Course for 6-18 year olds.

Monday 24th - Friday 28th July.

9am - 4.30pm

Classes in Musical Theatre, Drama, Singing, Street Dance, Contemporary Dance, Music Video Creation, Recording Studio Sessions and MAGIC!

Working towards a spectacular show on stage to friends and family at 4-5.30 on Friday 28th July.

Italia Conti Chislehurst Linked to the famous Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts, this part-time school offers classes in dance, drama and singing at Coopers School in Chislehurst on Saturdays and weekday evenings.

JUSTIN HIGHAM

Justin has been a writer and performer of magic for over 40 years, is creator and publisher of over 500 effects and methods, author of over 15 books and manuscripts on card magic and related subjects.

He first lectured for The British Magical Society (1988), The Magic Circle (1994), and the Wolverhampton Circle of Magicians (1999).

More recently Justin has given workshops on card technique at The Session Convention, London (2011) and The Magic Circle summer school, London (2010/2011/2012), and lectured at the International Festival of Magic, London (2014), the Southern Brotherhood of Magicians, Cork (2015), L’Antre Magique theatre, Paris (2015), The Session Convention, London (2016), Flat 9 lecture series, London (2018), the Magischer Cercle Vienna (2019), The London Magic Circle ‘sleights corner’ (2020), and the Zodiac Magical Society (2021).

A true master of his craft we cannot wait to have Justin join our Summer School team and teach the students some incredible tricks to perform to their family and friends!

SARA FERGUSON

Miss Sara will be joining the Summer School team as our Junior Group leader and Tap Choreographer.

She will be taking lunchtime tap rehearsals for any students that are ISTD Grade 3 and higher.

We cannot wait to have Sara with us this Summer for some MAGIC!

Our own Miss Charlie will be joining the Summer School team as our Musical Theatre Choreographer!

With a performing CV including West End and Touring credits such as: Chicago, Curtains, The Producers, Cats, West Side Story, Thoroughly Modern Milly, The Life, Spend Spend Spend and Copacabana we are sure she is going to whip up something truly MAGIC for us!

Josh will be joining us this July at our “MAGIC” Summer Course to bring us his exciting and unique choreography!

For those of you that don’t know… Josh is a former student who then went on to train at before embarking on the most incredible career as both a performer and creative!

Most recently Josh has been around the World rehearsing in the brand new casts of as the International Associate Choreographer!

DRAMA FESTIVAL

This weekend will see our Acting students compete for prestigious awards at “LIVE ACTION” - ICE DRAMA FESTIVAL.

Our Directors will be joined by Guest Judge TOR HOLLIDGE!

Tor is the former head of Drama at Italia Conti Chislehurst and current Head of Drama at Knole Academy in Sevenoaks.

We cannot wait to see our talented students perform and showcase their short films!

Dani will be joining the Summer School team this year as our dance choreographer working on Street, Technical Jazz and Contemporary routines for our show at the end of the week!

Dani spent the winter season working at in Dubai as a dancer in their phenomenal stage shows!

WALL OF FAME

Barack filmed a scene for Hollywood Blockbuster “FAST X” as the Hostage Child.

The movie has hit cinemas now and we’re thrilled that Baracks scene has made the final edit!

We are so proud of him making his big screen debut! (A phenomenal cast alongside him too… )

ISTD DANCE

Our ISTD Ballet, Tap and Modern classes work towards examinations in dance.

They are a great way for students to track their progress and build a solid technical foundation for their dance.

We offer classes from Pre-Primary through to Advanced plus the opportunity to learn original, creative choreography for performances.

Amie will be joining us as one of our masterclass tutors at Summer School this year!

PERFORMING ARTS SUMMER COURSE.

This year our MAGIC themed course will take place from Monday 24th July - Friday 28th July!

What better way to kick start your summer holidays than a fun filled week of song, dance, drama and MAGIC!

Our course is available to anyone aged 6-18 years and no prior performing experience is required.

It is always the most fun week of the year. PLUS we produce and perform a full 90 minute show on stage for all your friends and family at the end of the week!

LEGENDS

Our Senior Cabaret night will take place on Saturday 1st July with live entertainment from our Musical Theatre, Singing, Technical Jazz, Street and Contemporary students aged 12+!

DRAMA FESTIVAL

All of our Acting + Film & TV Students will be performing in our Drama Festival “LIVE ACTION” on Saturday 17th June at 3pm.

“LIVE ACTION” is the term given to when a production company creates a remake of an animated film or series using real actors (much like the new Disney Little Mermaid movie!).

Our actors have been tasked with putting their own spin on an animated Film or TV Show and bringing it to life on stage (or the big screen).

The groups will perform for a packed audience and our judging panel. There will then be prizes awarded for as well as some other awards that will acknowledge improvement and dedication throughout the term.

Tickets are on sale Saturday at the front desk and we hope to see as many of you there as possible!

ISTD RESULTS

We are so proud of the hard work and dedication of our students.

The importance of technique in dance cannot be underestimated, and our ISTD Ballet, Tap and Modern classes give the perfect foundation!

LIVE ACTION

Our Actors will be heading to the stage on Saturday 17th June to battle it out in our Drama Festival.

There will be awards for best group piece, best actor, most improved, best short film and many more!

Tickets are on sale at the front desk this Saturday!

ANIMALS

Our performance of “Animals” will take place at 11am on Saturday 17th June.

Our 3-5 year olds Tap, Ballet and Musical Theatre classes will make their stage debut alongside a selection of our wonderful 6-11 year old performers.

This show is going to be ROAR-some!

CHISLEHURST MAY QUEEN

We are honoured to have been invited to perform for the Chislehurst May Queen Festival on Chislehurst Common this Saturday!

The May Queen parade will leave from Red Hill School at 2:30pm and will reach Chislehurst Common at 3pm where we will meet the May Queen and perform three pieces for the crowd!

It is FREE to come along and we would love to see as many and friends in the audience to support us!
