Did you celebrate Chinese new year?

Thank you so much to one of our wonderful parents for coming in to share how she and her family celebrate Chinese New Year.
We love discovering the different cultures, beliefs and traditions that children in our nursery celebrate and looking at the delicious cuisines, beautiful decorations and important rituals that make it so special. We even heard some beautiful mandarin language.
The children demonstrated their bumble bee promises of being patient and waiting for turns when sharing resources and being kind and showing interest to guest speakers.

Just a little reminder that tomorrow is the first of our monthly ‘Little Diggers Parent Support Coffee Mornings’. It is open to all of the Little Diggers family but will be held in the Meeting Room at our Itchenor site at 10am.

We will have staff from both settings there that know your children well so whether you have any issues or concerns you’d like to share, or would simply like to come and meet some other mummies and daddies, we’d love to see lots of you there!

No need to book just pop along for a chat, a coffee and even a biccy or two!

Beach School incoming!

From February we are recommencing our beach school trips in our very own Little Diggers mini bus.

As well as having access to our beautiful forest at Itchenor we relish our trips to the coast and find it a holistic setting to practice mindfulness.
Beach school gives us time to appreciate the local environment that’s on our door step!

January is the RSPB’s big bird watch for schools!
We love the birds that live in our forest at Itchenor and we have been counting them, identifying common and native breeds and listening to their bird song as well as making feed for them and thinking of how they look after their babies in late Spring.
Many birds make nests to keep their eggs safe from predators and people!
We had a go at recreating different types of nests with clay and natural materials found in the woodland.
Don’t they look splendid for a little native bird!
