This half term, all of our classes from Reception to Year 6 have enjoyed a visit to the library!
The children loved spending time exploring the shelves, discovering new stories and looking through a fantastic range of books. It was wonderful to see their excitement and enthusiasm for reading as they browsed and shared their favourite finds with friends.
Regular library visits help to nurture a love of reading, spark imagination and encourage children to explore new interests through books. We can't wait for our next visit!

Stanage class, have been focusing on number bonds to 10 and have been working hard to recall them quickly and accurately. The children are becoming much more confident and are impressing staff with how fast they can remember and say their number bonds.

It has been wonderful to see their enthusiasm and determination as they develop these important maths skills. Keep up the fantastic work, everyone!

World Teachers’ Day 2026
Today, we celebrate World Teachers’ Day and take the opportunity to recognise the incredible dedication, passion and commitment of teachers everywhere. 🌟

At Hady Primary School, we are proud of the amazing teachers who inspire, nurture and support our children every day. From helping pupils develop new skills and knowledge to encouraging confidence, resilience and a love of learning, their impact extends far beyond the classroom.

This year’s theme, "Standing with teachers: 60 years of protecting the profession, advancing its status and shaping our futures," reminds us of the vital role teachers play in shaping the lives of young people and building brighter futures for all.

Did you know that the famous yellow smiley face was created by an artist called Harvey Ball in 1963? Over time, he felt that the smiley face was losing its special meaning, so he created World Smile Day to encourage everyone to spread kindness and make others smile.

At Hady Primary School, we know that the simplest acts of kindness can make the biggest difference. Whether it's helping a friend, sharing a kind word, including someone in a game, or simply offering a smile, every positive action helps make our school a happier place.

Today, we're encouraging everyone to do an act of kindness and share a smile with someone else. Together, we can make the world a brighter place, one smile at a time!

Our Reception classes had a lovely morning today celebrating Grandparents Day!
We were delighted to welcome grandparents into school to spend some special time with the children. Together, they enjoyed playing games, completing jigsaw puzzles and sharing lots of smiles and laughter.

Tomorrow, we are celebrating our amazing Teaching Assistants and saying a huge THANK YOU for everything they do for the children of Hady. ❤️

Our Teaching Assistants play such an important role in school life. From supporting learning in the classroom, providing encouragement and reassurance, helping children overcome challenges, and creating opportunities for every child to succeed, their dedication, care and commitment make a real difference every single day.

We are incredibly lucky to have such a hardworking and talented team who go above and beyond for our children and families.

We had a wonderful OPAL Play and Stay session on Friday afternoon!

It was fantastic to welcome parents into school and see children and families enjoying our exciting play opportunities together. From creative play and exploration to teamwork and adventure, there were smiles all around as everyone got involved.

OPAL is all about giving children the chance to play, explore, take acceptable risks and develop important life skills through high-quality outdoor play. It was lovely to share this experience with our families and showcase the many opportunities available during playtimes at Hady.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us. We hope you enjoyed the afternoon as much as we did!

Today, is the International Day of Peace, a reminder that peace is built through the small actions we take every day.

At Hady Primary School, we are proud to help our children become kind, respectful and responsible citizens who make a positive difference to the world around them. Whether it’s showing kindness to a friend, including others in play, showing integrity by resolving disagreements thoughtfully, or helping someone in need, every act of compassion helps to build a more peaceful community that we all belong to.

30 July is the UN’s !

It was proclaimed back in 2011 with the idea that friendship between peoples, countries, cultures and individuals can inspire peace efforts and build bridges between communities.

This year, as the world faces profound ruptures — between nations, within societies, even within families — the call to friendship is essential.

It’s about reaching across what breaks us and daring to believe in something better. It is a call to imagine a future where difference doesn’t mean distance, where trust is stronger than fear. Through friendship, we don’t just cope with the world as it is — we begin to shape the world as it could be.

For most, the summer holidays are a time for fun and exploration; but we know that it’s also a common time for safeguarding issues.

These include increased stress or family tensions, disruption of routine and isolation, increased vulnerability, reduced access to support services, cultural or religious factors, and expenses.

There are multiple support services who are available 24/7 like the NSPCC (Call 0808 800 5000), Shout (Text 85258), and Childline (Call 0800 1111).

Please stay safe and help us make sure this summer holiday is a blast for our young people.
