30 July is the UN’s !

It was proclaimed back in 2011 with the idea that friendship between peoples, countries, cultures and individuals can inspire peace efforts and build bridges between communities.

This year, as the world faces profound ruptures — between nations, within societies, even within families — the call to friendship is essential.

It’s about reaching across what breaks us and daring to believe in something better. It is a call to imagine a future where difference doesn’t mean distance, where trust is stronger than fear. Through friendship, we don’t just cope with the world as it is — we begin to shape the world as it could be.

For most, the summer holidays are a time for fun and exploration; but we know that it’s also a common time for safeguarding issues.

These include increased stress or family tensions, disruption of routine and isolation, increased vulnerability, reduced access to support services, cultural or religious factors, and expenses.

There are multiple support services who are available 24/7 like the NSPCC (Call 0808 800 5000), Shout (Text 85258), and Childline (Call 0800 1111).

Please stay safe and help us make sure this summer holiday is a blast for our young people.

We’re nearly at the end of !

SEND stands for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. Some children need extra help in school for learning, emotional, social, or physical reasons.

At Hady Primary school, we aim to:
• Spot difficulties early and help as soon as possible.
• Involve children and parents in decisions.
• Work with health and social care services to get the best for your child.
• Make sure all children can access high-quality support.
• Make our school inclusive for all.
• Support children as they move through school and onto the next stage

We welcome all students. If your child has complex needs, we will work with you to see if our school can meet those needs appropriately. We also work closely with carers and other professionals to ensure that looked after or previously looked after children get the support they need, including a personalised support plan.

Today is officially the last day of the school year (as we have INSET days tomorrow and on Thursday with the holidays starting on Friday)!

So, we say goodbye to some of our brilliant young people as they move on to the next phase of their education. We will miss you all and wish you all the best for the future.

For everyone else, we hope everyone has a wonderful summer holiday and we’ll see you all in September!

🏆 A huge congratulations to our Year 5/6 Girls' Football Team, who were crowned SHAPE Team of the Year 2026!

The girls attended the awards ceremony on Friday evening and were absolutely delighted to receive this well-deserved recognition. Their smiles say it all! 😊

We are incredibly proud of everything they have achieved this year. Their teamwork, determination, resilience and sporting excellence have been outstanding, and they are fantastic ambassadors for our school. Well done, girls – you should be extremely proud of yourselves. We certainly are! ⚽

This year’s theme is ‘Skills for a shared future’. Spotlighting the urgent need for innovative youth skills programmes: initiatives that empower young people not only to adapt, but to lead with empathy, bridge cultural divides, build resilience, and actively shape a more sustainable and inclusive tomorrow.

We regularly review our curriculum and our offer to our young people to make sure they’re prepared for their future.

Our Year 3/4 Boys and Girls football teams took part in the Shape Football League Finals.

Both teams did extremely well to qualify for these finals after playing two mornings of league fixtures earlier in the term.

The girls had a tough group with some very experienced teams. The first game was a tight one which they narrowly lost 2-1 and the second game was very tricky against the eventual winners of the finals. In the last game the girls did so well to dust themselves down after feeling disappointed and ended up winning 2-0! Well done girls, you did so well to keep on going and showed amazing team spirit! Special mention to Freya who scored an amazing goal straight from a corner kick!!

Onto the boys who did very well in their group, winning one and drawing the other two games. They went straight into the semi-final where it was a tight contest and finished 0-0 so penalties it was 🫣

We put in a stellar performance with all three of our penalty takers Luca, Zak and Kaiden finding the net and with our superstar goalie Preston making an amazing save to ensure we won the penalty shoot out 3-2!

We played Tupton in the final and had an amazing start with Kaiden firing a shot on target from long range in the first 2 minutes but unfortunately the goal wasn’t given as the ref wasn’t sure the ball had fully crossed the line (no goal line technology at Staveley Miners Welfare unfortunately). We put in a solid performance but lost to a good side in the end. The boys finished runners up and should be extremely proud of themselves!

Both teams did amazingly well today and made everyone so proud!
