π MEET THE TEAM π
Say hello to Miss Meredith! πβ¨
Miss Meredith discovered her love of dance at 7 years old, and it's been a huge part of her life ever since.
She went on to study Performing Arts at university before entertaining audiences across holiday parks, theme parks and visitor attractions throughout the UK. In 2023, she became a Resident Choreographer and Assistant Casting Director at Alton Towers, and has since continued to explore a variety of exciting performing and teaching opportunities.
We're delighted that one of those opportunities brought her to Studio J! π
For Miss Meredith, dance is all about confidence, creativity and allowing every child to express themselves while having fun.

β¨ Always growing. Always learning. β¨
Miss Jo has just had two fantastic and inspiring days at the Dance Business Conference, and I'm heading home with a very full head (and lots of new ideas!) π
Teaching has always come naturally to me. I've been dancing and teaching for most of my life, but being a dance teacher and being a business owner are two very different things!
Over the years, I've had to learn so much about the business side of Studio J, marketing, finances, leadership, systems, planning and everything in between. And I'm still learning every day.
That's one of the things I love most about running Studio J: there is always room to grow, improve and do things better.
I'm excited to put some of the things I've learnt into practice and continue building the very best Studio J I can for our dancers, families and team.
Always learning. Always evolving. Always dreaming bigger. π

From Snow White to Snow Whiteβ¦ 8 years apart! ππ
I came across this photo the other day and it was just too cute not to share!
Many of you will know Evie, one of our wonderful Student Helpers. Eight years ago, a little Evie came along to one of our Princess Events dressed as Snow White.
Fast forward to 2026β¦ and she's a much more grown-up Snow White, performing in our recent Studio J show! π₯Ήβ¨
Where have those 8 years gone?!
We've watched Evie grow from a little girl who loved to dance into such a beautiful, dedicated and talented young dancer. But what makes us most proud is the kind and caring young person she's becoming.
Evie gives up her Saturday mornings to help our younger dancers, always showing such patience, kindness and encouragement. She's incredibly dedicated, attending 4 classes a week plus assisting classes across 3 days, has taken part in every Studio J show to date, successfully completed her dance exams and has recently achieved her Bronze Student Helper Award. π
It's been such a privilege to watch you grow, Evie, and we couldn't be prouder of everything you've achieved so far.
From a little Snow White to a beautiful young dancer, performer and role modelβ¦ we can't wait to see where your journey takes you next! π
Keep shining, Evie! β¨

π This summer, we're sharing our story...
Over the next few weeks, we're taking you behind the scenes at Studio J. We'll be introducing our amazing team, sharing our classes, and giving you a glimpse into what makes our dance family so special.
So, I thought I'd start by introducing myself...
Hi, I'm Miss Jo, Principal of Studio J Dance Academy. π
I started dancing when I was about three years old, and honestly... I don't remember ever wanting to do anything else.
I was the little girl who spent hours making up dances in her bedroom, forcing my family to watch performances in the living room, and filling notebook after notebook with routines and ideas. Even then, I dreamed of one day having my own dance school.
After leaving school, I trained at Phil Winston's Theatreworks before spending the next ten years performing professionally around the world. I was lucky enough to dance in China, India, Greece, Egypt, on cruise ships, and in countless theatres and cabaret shows.
It was an incredible chapter of my life... but it wasn't the one that would become my favourite.
A back injury brought my performing career to an unexpected end. At the time, it felt like everything I'd worked towards had disappeared overnight.
Looking back now, it turned out to be the best thing that could have happened.
Because it led me here.
Studio J was built from a dream I'd had since I was a little girl, a place where children could feel safe, supported and completely themselves. Somewhere they could build confidence, make lifelong friends, discover a love of dance and know they belonged, whether they dreamed of performing professionally or simply wanted a fun hobby every week.
Now, almost ten years later, Studio J has become so much more than a dance school.
It's a community.
It's watching shy children walk through the door for the first time and seeing them leave smiling.
It's celebrating first cartwheels, first pirouettes, first performances and all those little moments that parents might not even realise are such huge milestones.
It's friendships that stretch far beyond the studio.
And now, it's something even more special.
As many of you know, I'm also a mum to two little boys. Zach's just turned 1 and it won't be long until Xander turns 4. Balancing motherhood with running Studio J isn't always easy. There are late nights, endless emails, lesson planning, choreography and admin... and sometimes my boys come along for the ride too!
But every time I walk into the studio and see our dancers laughing, encouraging each other and growing in confidence, I'm reminded exactly why I do this.
To every family who has trusted me with their child over the last nine years...
Thank you.
Thank you for your support, your kindness, your patience, and for helping create the wonderful community that Studio J has become.
I truly couldn't do it without you, and I feel incredibly lucky to be part of so many of your children's journeys.
This is just the beginning of our story, and I can't wait to share more with you over the summer. π
