Over six weeks, you’ll get properly stuck into the world of ceramics, with a strong focus on learning to use the pottery wheel.

You’ll learn:

• Preparing and wedging clay
• Centring on the pottery wheel
• Throwing bowls, cups and vessels
• Trimming and refining your pieces
• Adding handles and decorative details
• Surface decoration and glazing
• How the kiln firing process works

Everything is included – your clay, materials, use of the wheels and studio equipment, tuition, glazing and professional kiln firings.

And, of course, you’ll have your own finished ceramic pieces to keep. 🤍

Never touched clay before?

That’s absolutely fine.

This course is specifically designed to take you through the process from the very beginning, with expert guidance throughout.

Pottery is creative, mindful, a little messy – and incredibly satisfying.

Our class sizes are deliberately kept small to give everyone plenty of individual tuition and wheel time, so places are limited.

Created specifically for complete beginners, this relaxed and supportive course teaches you how to draw properly from the foundations up.

Over six weeks you’ll learn:

• How to draw what you actually see
• Proportion and measuring
• Confident line and mark-making
• Light, shadow and tone
• Shading to create depth and form
• How to create a finished still-life drawing

You’ll be guided step-by-step by tutor Ruth Marsh, with demonstrations, practical exercises and individual feedback.

And because we keep our classes small, you’ll receive plenty of one-to-one support.

“But I genuinely can’t draw…”

Perfect. That’s who this course is for.

You don’t need experience. You don’t need to be naturally “artistic”. You just need to come along and be willing to learn.

A little Monday moment 💕

On Friday evening I taught my Resin Workshop for Beginners, my first resin class after being away on maternity leave.

I’ll admit, getting back into teaching has felt harder than I expected. When you’ve been away for a while, it’s amazing how quickly the confidence you once had can disappear!
So waking up to these lovely 5-star reviews genuinely meant such a lot. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“Everyone was so friendly. Our teacher was fabulous and nothing was too much trouble. Everything was well explained and so enjoyable.”

And another lovely lady said she’d happily book further classes too. 🥹

One thing I particularly loved was hearing that someone had come along on her own and felt completely comfortable and welcomed. I know coming to a workshop by yourself can feel a little daunting, so please know you absolutely don’t need to bring someone with you.

Thank you so much to everyone who came on Friday. You all made absolutely gorgeous pieces, and gave me a little reminder that perhaps I can still do this after all. ❤️
