A solstice offering to the local fairies. The egg was a very happy after-school find this afternoon

The children made these hapa zome butterflies this morning using foraged wild flowers (weeds) from the village. It was so fun and they turned out beautifully

This week is all about magic at Forest School - follow the link in bio/stories to book on for Saturday or Tuesday.

From this week, I have had to increase session prices to keep the Forest School going - if this affects your ability to come to Forest School, please drop me a message as I will try to keep a couple of spaces available at the old prices so that hopefully all our forest friends can continue to access our sessions

Today’s session was really wonderful. We had lots of May Day crafts available, but almost all of the children decided to make fishing rods instead! They headed to the tool table to make a wood-cookie-bait-hook and then to the pond to catch all manner of creatures from frogs and toads to Nemo and Dory!

Offering resources and letting the children work out what they want to do is the true spirit and joy of Forest School, and I just love seeing what they come up with

I’m so excited to get back into the forest next week! Tuesday’s preschool session and Saturday’s family forest school will celebrate Beltane/May Day with lots of nature crafts, snacks and the children will have the chance to enjoy the Beltane tradition of jumping over a (flameless) campfire. Both sessions will run 10-11:30, booking link in stories and bio

A change of scenery for me this week. I’ve been working with Grow Wellbeing to deliver HAF sessions in Chester.

Yesterday’s group was very interested in foraging, and we made a delicious dandelion tea, and enjoyed wild garlic with our lunch. We also found some rhubarb growing, and a wonderful colleague took that home to turn into flapjacks for tomorrow’s snack.

See my stories for details of how to join us tomorrow and Thursday
