Local elections take place across the country tomorrow. If you're eligible and registered to vote, don't forget to use your voice and have your say. Don't forget; you'll need photo ID and your polling card to vote.

Think you don’t have the qualifications to do a degree? I did, too.

I didn’t have any A Levels or equivalent qualifications from school, but doing a Foundation Year at the University of Chester has enabled me to achieve a life-long ambition of gaining a degree.

I would encourage anyone who thinks they might not have the right qualifications for a degree to talk to the Foundation Year team.

What impressed me was their dedication to students and the specific focus on developing skills needed for degree-level study.

Students I met during the Foundation Year have remained close friends, so if you’re concerned about meeting like-minded people, like I was, you have nothing to worry about. I’m now even studying for a Master’s degree at Chester.”

The University of Chester offers over 65 degrees that include a Foundation Year for those who may not have the full entry requirements to start on a three-year degree.

If you’ve been out of education for a long time and lack traditional qualifications, or you haven’t met the requirements for your chosen degree course more recently, Foundation Years at Chester will give you the opportunity to achieve your ambitions.
