Today one of our longest standing riding school ponies goes off to enjoy his retirement. Billy has been an absolute asset to our school for so long and we are sure without him many of you would never of been able to progress as easily and as quickly as you did! In previous years he gave many a rider the experience of that “first canter” whilst also introducing so many to the world of jumping confidently. From the day he arrived with us (well over 10years ago) he has been nothing but perfection to our team. After many years of teaching our clients the ropes he now gets to spend his days in the field with some previously retired companions. You owe us nothing Billy. But we certainly owe you this ❤️

OWN A HORSE DAY!

After multiple requests we have decided to put something together for the adults to enjoy just as much as the children do! We have put together an action packed day full of learnings and practicals to delve deeper into the world of horsemanship.

The perfect opportunity has arisen for someone who wants to enjoy a little more freedom with their riding without the full commitment of owning a horse.

Indie is a fantastic member of our riding school team and regularly gets used in lessons for various levels of rider. However due to his rather large size he isn’t being utilised as well as some of our other horses. He is a brilliant allrounder that enjoys his flat work, hacking and popping over some small jumps.

He would suit a competent novice or can also step up a gear for someone more established as produces some lovely flatwork with the correct riding.

Regardless of his size he is a very gentle soul and absolutely loves attention and lots of cuddles so is the perfect starting point for a share horse.

EASTER ACTIVITIES 🐰🐣🪺

As always, please book in ASAP to secure your space! Our last holiday activities got booked up very quickly and we would be saddened for anyone to miss out again this time around!

FUNDAY 😁

A super day spent with this lovely young group of up and coming equestrians! A day filled with lots of riding and stable management. Our day started with one group having a group riding lesson, whilst the 2nd group went off to stable management in which they learnt all about pony care and mucking out (it’s not all glamorous 😉)
After which we did a swap around for the riding & stable management.
For a majority of the riders they had never ridden in a group setting before so this was a real learning curve and gave all the girls a much clearer insight into the importance of being in control of their pony at all times. Riding in a group is also a fantastic way to boost one another’s confidence and help learn from each other.
After a busy morning, we all had a well earned rest for lunch. Which was spent with everyone getting to know one another a little better and building even more confidence in a group setting.
The progression in confidence both ridden and on the ground certainly showed in our afternoon activity, which was gymkhana games! The girls split up into 4 teams and played multiple relay races that most certainly put their riding skills through its paces…
Everyone worked beautifully together with so much support and encouragement shown to one another. All in all, a super FUNDAY which wouldn’t have been possible without our gorgeous ponies and hardworking team of staff to make the day a success. We hope you all had as much fun as we did ❤️

Due to being increasingly busy with our livery & riding school, We are now actively looking for members of full time staff.

• All usual yard duties

• Opportunity to teach/ training to become a coach if you are interested in doing so.

• Riding optional, all though preferred. Mainly for giving our school horses a freshen up.

• Very competitive rates of pay with regular bonuses and incentives in place. Teaching is also paid by commission on top of wage.

• Potential for own horses to join.

•Must be able to work 1 weekend day.

Funday 💕
A super fun day was had by all, staff and ponies included 😁
We started the day with a stable management session that consisted of learning and labelling all the parts of the pony. (George was happy to oblige for the little people)
We then moved on to a group lesson in which all the girls worked beautifully on perfecting their balance and position by using various fun and rewarding exercises to achieve this.
For the afternoon session it was time to tack up our ponies and head to the races! 😉
Putting their morning learnings into practice by having to balance various items whilst mounted, bending around obstacles, getting their ponies to find the treats and somehow bean bags being aimed at our VERY Accepting coach Jenny 🙈😂
All in all a lovely day and a great way to build the young riders confidence and learnings with the ponies 💕

CHRISTMAS ACTIVITIES 🌲 🎅 ⛄️

One our coaches out to play this weekend on board her share horse, Harley. Between coaching a large amount of her own client base in our riding school, Jenny works very Hard to progress her own skillset and knowledge within equitation. A competitive outing is the perfect way to put those learnings to the test and help push your self development ever further. Comparing this pairs last outing to this weekend has proved that all her hard work is really starting to pay off and Jenny definitely has a lot more control of Harley’s “enthusiastic nature” when it comes to jumping a course 👏🏻

THAT FRIDAY FEELING 😴
End to a busy Friday with a staff training session. We encourage all of our staff to participate in regular training sessions to help further improve both their knowledge & skill set. This not only benefits them as individuals but also gives our horses the opportunity to have a confident and educational schooling session which then reflects positively in their everyday working life, to which our clients will then also feel the benefits. All the horses and riders worked beautifully, with newbie horse Pedro also joining in for his first group session 👏🏻

JOEY 💙
One of our largest horses in the riding school but by far the most gentle. He is the perfect starter horse for both adults and children due to his kind, patient and placid nature. He is super at providing his riders with lots of confidence, particularly when it comes to no stirrup work and learning to canter due to his steady rhythm. Joey is just as lovely (and cuddly) on the ground as he is ridden and adores the attention he receives from his riders after a lesson 🥰

POLO 🤍
One of our longest standing riding school ponies. She has been (and still very much is) a very important member of our team for so many years. In that time endless amounts of excited small children have experienced their first riding lesson on top of perfect Polo. She really is the ideal confidence giver for those young riders getting to grips with the first stages of riding and in turn setting them up with great positivity for their riding to progress. A true one in a million pony 😍

2 WEEKS INTO THE SUMMER HOLIDAYS BE LIKE… 😂😴

Over the summer holidays we tend to have more spaces available over the weekends for lessons, due to many of our clients going away or being more flexible to ride in the weekdays. So if you normally struggle to find a slot on the weekend now is the time to get booked in! Limited spaces also left on selected summer activities.

DOLLY 💋
One of our Long-standing livery horses who was originally purchased from us and has stayed on livery with us for many wonderful years now. She spent multiple years competing successfully BS and now has a slightly more relaxed life, spending many hours with her lovely owner enjoying the countryside and lots of fuss. I believe she was assuming I had treats at this point to be privileged enough to get her photo 🤣

LITTLE LOU LOU 🤩
What a darling girl she is! A real favourite among our younger clients, for good reason. Always helping her riders the best she can to establish their balance and seat. With a real “rocking horse” canter she makes it as easy as can be for the little ones to help develop a good seat within the pace. It’s ponies like this we couldn’t manage without 😇
