Thank you for stopping by! I am incredibly passionate about helping children feel confident in their learning and would love the opportunity to work alongside your child.
Here is some more information about Sage Learning...
- I tutor groups rather than 1:1. The ideal amount of children in a group is 4, but I would accept slightly more or less. You would need to find a group of children, then approach me about availability.
- Some sessions have already been taken, so I can put your group on a waiting list if I don't have availability.
- Sessions last for an hour and cost £25 per child.
- Sessions can be hosted in my home (Chessington) or in the home of one of the children in the group.
- Sessions are term time only, unless the group ask for holiday sessions.
- Sessions can cover maths, writing, reading, handwriting, phonics and spelling.
- I will give you notice in advance if there is any reason I need to miss a session. You obviously would not be charged for this.
- As a mum of two little ones, I understand that children get ill or have other appointments. If notice is given in advance, I can credit a maximum of one missed session off the next termly block bill.
- If more than two sessions are missed in a term, I reserve the right to offer your child's session to another child on my waiting list.
- You would need to pay for the half term in advance, and can do so through cash, cheque or bank transfer.
- If I believe the pace of the group is too fast/slow for your child, I will have a sensitive conversation with you to decide whether you would like to continue.
As stated in my previous post, I have chosen to tutor group sessions rather than 1:1 sessions. As much as we'd like to take all the credit, any teacher will tell you that children learn best when they are with their peers. They are inspired by their ideas, more confident to join in and feel less pressured. It also provides the opportunity for more fun learning! The going rate for 1:1 sessions with an experienced teacher is £30-£35, which is why my price has been reduced to £25 in a group situation.
I understand that some families might worry that their child wouldn't receive personalised learning in a group session. As an experienced classroom practitioner, I am used to delivering a lesson which caters for multiple different learning abilities, so I assure you, I would be able to adapt to exactly what your child needs. I can also give email feedback at the end of a session if you would appreciate it.
**Please note, I do not provide tuition for the 11+**
Please do message me if you have any more queries or questions!
Thanks!
