Year 8 have been doing fantastic work in DT this morning, working on crafting their wooden boxes 🪚 This task requires plenty of precision and concentration, which the class have been displaying brilliantly! Well done Year 8! We can’t wait to see the finished products!

LOCAL RESIDENTS - please note our annual Fireworks event will take place on Thursday 24th October 2024, with fireworks being let off at 7:15pm for 10 minutes. We understand the noise can be upsetting for some pets, hence giving you as much notice as possible as we have in previous years. Throwback to last term, when students enjoyed a fun-packed Carnival Day! From laser tag 🔫 to the ice cream van,🍦, the day was a blast and a great way to end a productive and successful school year!

Students enjoyed trips to the Needles and Osborn House on their Isle of Wight residential ⛴️ - not only was the trip masses of fun, it also proved the perfect opportunity to expand their humanities knowledge!

Year 9 had a brilliant time in Brighton yesterday, exploring the beach, Pier, and Sealife! 🐠☀️From colourful clownfish to the thrilling rides, the day was jam-packed with fun and was thoroughly enjoyed by all!

Year 8 enjoyed a trip to the Science Museum today, exploring the various exhibits and deepening their knowledge of all branches of STEM 🔭🧫🧬

More from yesterday’s London Eye and River Cruise trip🎡🛥️

Yesterday Year 8 visited London, embarking on trips on both the London Eye and the London Eye River Cruise 🎡🛥️. They were treated to sights of many famous landmarks - the Houses of Parliament, the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, and many more. They had a fantastic time!

Our Year 9 and 10 students have spent the morning networking with a range of employers, from Bank Managers to Beauticians.

Careers Day has given students the opportunity to connect with countless professionals, exploring employment opportunities in a wide range of sectors, and gaining invaluable advice from experienced professionals

Thank you to all of those who joined us today and generously gave their time to come and speak with our students

A rainy 24 hours 🌧️, however the students are in high spirits and after a cooked breakfast they are now making their own Bushcraft tools

Year 7 and 8 have been thoroughly embracing the Bushcraft lifestyle on the first day of their residential trip: From shelter building 🏕️ to fire lighting 🔥 , our students are having an absolute blast, all the while learning new skills and making memories with friends that are sure to last them a lifetime!

Last Thursday we celebrated our Sport Stars 🌟 at our annual Sports Celebration Evening. We took the time to recognise and applaud our student’s dedication, passion and flair for sport, honed by our wonderful PE department and sports coaches.

We celebrated successes in all sport, from fencing 🤺 to football ⚽️, and topped off the evening crowning our Sports Personality of the Year - congratulations Alfie (9EWI)!

The evening was a great success - thank you to all of the friends and family who joined us in celebrating our students achievements, who we couldn’t be any prouder of

Now, roll on the 2024/25 Sports season! We can’t wait to see what you all achieve!

💃🏽 Year 11 Prom 2024 🪩🕺🏼

What an evening - a perfect celebration to top off 5 years of friendship, learning and laughs.

The new venue was stunning - all credit to Miss Rutledge - but was certainly outshone by our students, who went all out with their beautiful gowns and stylish suits.

Our students danced the night away with friends that will last a lifetime, celebrating the years that they have spent growing together as they now look ahead to new adventures!

Each Prefect was carefully selected subject to a rigorous application process, including a written application, staff references, and a thorough interview. Well done to you all for being successful in your applications - we know you are going to be brilliant!

We would like to extend a further congratulations to Lilly and Theo, our Lead Prefects! Both students displayed excellent leadership qualities, exceptional behaviour and a strong dedication to the school’s ethos and values. We know that they will both do a wonderful job!

Year 8 have been working hard in Art this week, sculpting clay tiles inspired by Australian Aboriginal artwork 🐨🦘

To wrap up and celebrate our first ever Diversity Week, we have a beautiful poem we would like to share, written by Lola in Year 7.

Lola is the winner 🥇 of our Diversity Poem House Competition, and it is clear to see why! What a lovely poem, encompassing exactly what Diversity Week has been all about - inclusion, acceptance, and appreciation of all of those around us!

Well done Lola, you have done Phoenix house proud! 🐦‍🔥

Congratulations Griffin House, winners of the 2024 Sports Day Cup! What an amazing day we had - from the sunny weather to the beautiful sports ground, and of course our students being absolutely wonderful, this has to be the best sports day yet!

A massive thank you to the PE department for all of the time and effort spent organising such a wonderful day, our students for being fabulous as always and working tirelessly to earn points for their houses, and also to our parent community, many of whom joined us at sports day, showing support for our students.

The PE department are showing their support for Diversity Week, tailoring their lessons to teach our students about inclusion

Students have been discussing how we can make adaptations to different sports and games to suit the needs and ability of all of our students - for example, using braille dominos for those who are visually impaired.

Pupils have been thoroughly engaging in the lessons, and have come up with some lovely ideas on how to make sport and games more inclusive for all! ⚽️🎳🎾

The money raised by the cake sale will be split between Just Like Us - a fantastic LGBTQ+ charity - and the school’s chosen house charities

Diversity Week kicked off today with flying colours! 🌈

We are loving the decorations around the building, from the balloon archway at Main Reception to the hand written notes from our students on what makes them unique!

Ms Jacob’s Pride stall was a massive success, and will continue to run at lunchtime throughout the remainder of this week 🏳️‍🌈

We love seeing our students embracing this event, and will be sure to keep you posted as the festivities continue!

Students in Science Club have been busy building and launching rockets this week, and were also treated to a wonderful demonstration by Miss Scott and Miss Satti

Take a look at some of the amazing ‘Fake’aways our Year 10 students cooked up in Mrs Ford’s catering lesson. Students were challenged with replicating some the nations favourite takeaway orders, and we think they did an incredible job!
