I have made the sad decision to hang up my teaching hat and retire, due to ill health. But I will keep this page open for teaching hints and tips. 😢

*📣 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT! 📣 *

Firstly, Hi Everyone of you lovely one of my loyal and friendly tutoring customers on here! I know not all of my customers are here, so if you are friends of any that aren’t, please share this message with them on my behalf. 🙏🏻
I have been keeping very quiet and private for the last month at least, due to some personal illness that I was hoping would be improving but has since Christmas recently changed in a very dramatic way, so I feel now is the time
to be honest and explain, so you can have an understanding and also feel reassured that I am not leaving UW or anything to do with it - in fact, it’s the totally opposite, as it has now become possibly my only lifeline to any kind of future ahead for me and my family both income wise and team building wise, not to mention the company and colleagues that have supported me in a way that I could never begin to imagine or describe to you!

So, here’s the ‘slightly’ shortened story… if you can bear to read on for long enough…
Many of you know that I went through 18 months of intense aggressive Breast Cancer treatment in 2016, when my boys were 5 and 10 years old. It made me unable to continue with my only income at the time when I was tutoring through a self-employed basis, helping Primary and secondary aged children outside of school in their own homes after school and weekends, due to the 6 months of aggressive chemotherapy, major operations, radiotherapy and intravenous biological treatments that continued for a year on a 3 weekly basis. The hard work started after that for me to rebuild my life both physically, emotionally and mentally and to find a new way to build a business that would guarantee me a residual income, that would work along side me rebuilding my tutoring business but also repair the debt that we had accumulated while I was unable to work for so long and be able to build a monthly guaranteed income should the time ever be needed like that in any capacity again, which UW did and so much more than I could ever begin to imagine!

But about a year ago, I had a nagging back pain every time I exercised, which came and went, improved and got worse, in no seemingly regular pattern. I had just got to the point before Christmas where the anti-inflammatories seemed to be helping. But suddenly, after Christmas, the pain very quickly intensified and doubling the anti-inflammatories were not doing a thing. I just got the referral letter through for an MRI, when things suddenly changed in an instant, before I even got to the appointment! I ended up in agony unable to move at home on 11th Jan. After a week of trying to get through it, I was taken by ambulance to Basildon hospital on Mon 17th January, where I stayed in isolation for 3 weeks with no visitors allowed at all. All scans were done and results known, but not relayed to me or my husband as he wasn’t decided as next of kin for whatever reason, for a week, as the spine specialist at Queen’s was the one who needed to deal with me from the beginning to end. Finally, after weeks of absolute hell and madness, with my husband calling at least twice a week and writing various complaints and emails to PALs to find out what the delay was as he was so worried for me alone unable to move without a single visitor allowed! Finally on day 21, on Sunday 6/2/22, last night I arrived where I needed to be for treatment at Queen’s university Romford to start after being ‘imprisoned’ in Basildon hospital waiting for a bed for 3 weeks! At 11am today I was told surgery was not happening today, but would be instead happening on Wednesday after meeting my consultant! I now have met him and have full plan of action, which is due to start intense treatment from tomorrow. Tomorrow I have a physio in able to assess my ability to sit, stand, move from this bed, as it’s been a month since I’ve moved from laying down position, so it’s going be a big effort! It’s a huge operation, removing the tumour, which they are sure is secondary breast cancer. The oncology team will be dealing with radiotherapy to the spine after too and investigate my reconstructed breast and remaining breast to see if that needs dealing with after too in case cancer is back there too. The whole L5 vertebrae needs removing and they intend to install a titanium cage in its place. The nerves to mainly my left leg (and slightly right leg) are most affected and may be permanently, they just don’t know until they look, which is their biggest concern, as well as how the nerves to the bladder and bowel too. It will be a long operation with biggest risk being to spinal fluid leak and blindness (!) as well as the usual heart attack, stroke, infection, bleeding and usual operation risks, but I feel totally safe in his hands and I’m not scared. Wednesday onwards I will be a bionic woman and the challenge will begin to get me up and walking again - I’ll be back to you after that, as soon as humanly possible!

As the broadband and WIFI here are shocking and extremely limited, I wanted to get this out to you, before I didn’t have another chance!
I have very limited access to work, internet and any tech access, but what I do have is an amazing group of friends and family behind me in both my tutoring business and my Utility Warehouse business, with all my customers and any new ones going forward too on my behalf. So, in terms of tutoring, I have to continue to put that all on hold until further notice, which I believe the relevant families all know and been so supportive and understanding with. 💕

In terms of my other self-employed business, with Utility Warehouse, that is able to continue. I have a friend, colleague and a very experienced and knowledgeable partner, who can help me with anything you would normally get from me in the meantime, so please don’t hesitate in getting in touch with me about this, as she is working very closely with me with all my customers old and new, but bear in mind she is also very busy with her own workload too, so be patient, drop her a call, voicemail, whatssap or text and she will do her very best to get back to you as soon as humanely possible. Please message me if you would like our help and I will pass her your number or vice versa.

I have very limited access to work, internet and any tech access, but what I do have is an amazing UW team helping me with all my customers and any new ones going forward too on my behalf. So I please don’t feel sending me any friends and family, who need help with reducing their bills in any shape or form or even an extra income as well would be greatly received with full support from my FTSE 250 company and fantastic team of partners who are supporting me as long as I need and be able to get back to working on my business again! Anyone you send my way will be helpful to me to continue to drive my business forward at a time when I need it most as well as helping you to lower bills too of course and also help all those people who are lost in this crazy energy and economy crisis right now that need our help too! 💕

Thank you for your kind support, understanding and reading this far! 😊

Wow! Even though we all know this, when you see it written down in front of your eyes, it really hits home 😳

I don’t normally post on my tuition page about my other business BUT I am breaking tradition today because…

I am so proud to have helped another family today NOT ONLY save money across ALL their utilities, but also add extra services (boiler & home cover), give them unlimited data across all 3 of their SIM cards for a much lower price than what they are currently paying for much less data, added an extra whole home wifi system that they needed, we also added a landline call package.

All these extras and they are still paying significantly less than what they were with all their other providers with the bonus of it all being on one bill, one direct debit and now only one password to remember!

They will also get £50 credit to spend on what they like for getting a Cashback card and another £50 credit for getting a free smart meter fitted.

The best part of all is that by helping this family, I have also helped a young homeless person get homed for a month due to our charity partnership with Centrepoint. 💕 💜

Next week is the last week of tuition until the new year, please can you check that you are able to make your session, as I know there are lots of different arrangements in the last week of term.
⚠️ Polite reminder: I require a week’s notice for cancellation otherwise half price fee is due, unless I can find you a make-up session on another day/time. Cancellation on the day requires full price cancellation fee or a make-up session.
