Socks and Boots - Dogs on Bikes

Socks and Boots are having a Scottish adventure with us this week and have loved their first walk out exploring the hills around Dunning village along the Dunning Burn. Socks thinks she is a mountain goat!

Haven’t been many rides out with the combination of Boots having her spaying op and dew claws done meaning cone confinement for two weeks, and the miserable weather but they did get a spa day yesterday! Boots now needs a jumper on for any outdoor activities!! Poor thing xx

What a busy week we have had in Norfolk! Lots of exploring with bike rides including two sections of the Marriott Way, going on a steam train, lots of long walks and a mystery tour around Norwich! Good to see so many places that were dog friendly including Norwich Cathedral, the Bure Valley Railway and our favourite pub of the week - the The Black Boys Hotel - Norwich Inns.

The Marriott Way was really good and was safe for us to run along, with Boots having to go more in the basket as she can’t run as far. This was also the third Mystery Guides tour we had done and really enjoyed looking for the historical clues!

Up in Norfolk this week and had a lovely ride yesterday on the bikes through various Norfolk towns and villages including Shotesham, Hempnall, Tasburgh, Long Stratton and Wotton with plenty of countryside, fields and woods, in between! Also got to see the remains of the Church of St Martin at Hawes Cross.

Socks did disappear at one stage after a huge deer but did well, came to her senses and responded to recall after a short while!

Lots of fusses to both at the stops especially by the children (and adults) at Huffers in Long Stratton!

Another ride out with the girls - this time across the fields and bridleways to the Black Horse Cafe in Earls Colne where we had lovely breakfasts and the girls got lots of bacon and sausage!

They both do so well on and off the bikes - Boots can’t run for long so has to take plenty of rests in the basket and she already knows how to ask to get up. I love when she runs though she sometimes ceases all contact with the ground and levitates! Socks also enjoyed her impromptu puddle bath!

Dad bought us a fab new bed! It was ‘Heckin Pawfect’

For some reason, he thought Socks and I would share it… it lovely and comfortable and just the right size for me and my toys (ok Sock’s toys I’ve claimed :))

Lovely bike ride over to Greenstead Green across the fields today to brunch at Martha's Tearoom for bacon and sausages, their own mats and a good drink of water. Boots got to run on the fields being shown what to do by her big sister but had to have rests in the basket too as she can’t run as far yet.

Very foggy and cold at first then beautiful sunshine for the way back. Then a snuggle up on the blanket to rest ❤️

Greenstead Green Watch

Socks and Boots had a visit from their sister Bella yesterday (same litter as Boots).

They had a good play and were playing so much it was hard to get a photo! A couple of them are hilarious! The detached head and the eyes are particularly funny 🤣

Boots is being exceptionally cute with those puppy dog eyes getting away with anything! She particularly loves being with us when we are at the desk, or wanting to play and definitely loves her morning yoghurt!

She also loves her sleeps with her big sister Socks. She is growing up fast!

Boots can swim! She jumped into a stream ‘by accident’ following her big sister Socks. It was about a metre and a half drop with an overhang so neither of them could escape!

Thankfully Ian was able to lean over and rescue them both!

Such a guilty face!! 🥰🤣
