Carterton Community College is celebrating a strong rise in Post‑16 results this year.
A‑Level success is up across the board — with a 26% jump in students achieving three or more A‑Levels, 10.5% growth in A/A* grades, and a 13% increase in A*–C outcomes.

Headteacher Matt Maudsley says the results show a “clear sea change” and reflect students’ determination and targeted support.

Head of Post‑16 Pete Corkish praised students’ hard work, leading to impressive university offers — including Oxford — and strong progression to Russell Group and first‑choice destinations.

These results set a powerful foundation for future Sixth Form aspirations.

Students from Year 8 attended the France/Belgium trip to visit the war graves, commemorating the fallen of World War One. Students visited numerous war graves - Tyne Cot, Thiepval, Passchendaele before finishing with the Last Post at Menin Gate where one of our students - Amelie Grove - represented the school in laying a wreath of remembrance, A true stand out moment

Last week we were really pleased to have a STEM workshop where a mixture of students learnt the basics of coding and also made some excellent robots that they programmed to move. Clearly our engineers of the future!

🌟 Welcoming Our New Year 6s!
It was wonderful to see so many families at our Transition Evening. Students took part in fun, engaging activities to help them settle into their new environment, and parents received key information about the year ahead from Mr Maudsley and Mr Winter.
A positive start to an exciting journey into Year 7.

We have shaded areas available and staff will be monitoring conditions throughout the day to adjust plans as needed.
