Spring Recitals 🌸

March was filled with music and magic at JAM! 🎻🎹🎺
We held three wonderful Spring Recitals, featuring our talented students performing on a wide variety of instruments - from absolute beginners to accomplished Grade 8 players.

Every performance was a joy to witness, and we’re so proud of all our young musicians for their hard work, courage, and musical expression! 💫 Bravo to everyone who took part! 👏🎵

🎉 JAM Turns 15! Join Us for a Special Summer Celebration! 🎶
We’re thrilled to announce that this year’s JAM Summer Concert will celebrate 15 wonderful years of music-making at the Junior Academy of Music! 💫

We’ll be premiering a brand-new choral work, Wondrous JAM, specially commissioned for the occasion by our amazing QUB alumna Fionnuala Fagan ()! 🎼✨

This month we have been asking our JAM tutors some questions as part of our, 'Meet the Tutors' series!

First up is Sarah Patton who is a Singing Tutor here at JAM!

Sarah Says,

"This is my 10th year at the Junior Academy, would you believe it? I have loved every minute of it!

I think the most important part of teaching singing is to remember why we are singing and to tailor lessons for each student giving purpose to everything we do from exercise to pieces. Singing should be enjoyed and a way of expressing yourself and the story within each piece.

My message to pupils learning to sing would be to remember to always sing with passion, sing songs that not only test you and your ability but also bring out your love for singing."

In the story, Tiny Tim is known for the famous statement, “God bless us, everyone” which he offers as a blessing at Christmas dinner. Is the next Tiny Tim sitting at your table? Please get in touch!

The Junior Academy of Music - NOW ENROLLING!!

Junior Academy of Music programmes are for all young people age 4-18 who love singing or playing musical instruments.

Various music activities are offered such as musicianship, music and movement, instrument tuition, music theory, aural skills, ensembles and music technology!

If you are interested you are welcome to apply for our academic year 2020-21. Group classes for JAM 1 and 2 will be starting on Saturday 12 and JAM 3 on Saturday 19 September.

JAM 4 Creative Music Technology programme will start on Friday 18 September in the Sonic Arts Research Centre at QUB https://www.qub.ac.uk/sarc/

Bursary opportunities and registration for JAM programmes for 2020-21 are now open! 👇

Two bursary-towards-fees schemes are available to applicants for JAM music classes:

🔴JAM Access Bursary fund
🔴Andrew Lloyd Webber Strings Bursaries.

Anyone in receipt of free school meals is eligible to apply.
