Keeping Our School Community Healthy

Over the past week, we have seen a higher than usual number of illness-related absences across the school.

We would really appreciate your support in reinforcing good hygiene habits at home, including:
🧼 Regular handwashing
🀧 Using tissues when sneezing or coughing
πŸ—‘οΈ Disposing of tissues appropriately

If your child is feeling well enough to attend school, we encourage them to be in school and continue learning with their classmates. If they are unwell, please follow NHS guidance and notify the school attendance team on 01524 732424 or [email protected]

Thank you for your continued support in helping us maintain a healthy school environment and maximise learning time for all pupils. πŸ’™πŸ“š

Beat the Bell

Arriving at school on time for 8:50am is an important part of preparing young people for life after school.
Please be aware of our lateness procedures:

βœ… 8:55am - 9:20am: Late mark ('L') and a 15-minute detention.
βœ… After 9:20am: Unauthorised mark ('U'), negative impact on attendance record, 45-minute detention and contact home.

If there's a reason your child may be late, or you'd like support with attendance and punctuality, we're here to help.

This week, we are holding a cake sale to raise funds for Young Minds. Pupils are encouraged to bake, or donate shop-bought, cakes for the cake sale which will take place on Friday lunch in the main hall. If you are baking cakes, please be aware that an allergy form must be completed and these can be collected from reception. In addition, on Friday, pupils can accessorize their uniform with something yellow to show their support of Mental Health Awareness Week - such as a pair of socks or bow in their hair. Pupils who choose to do this are asked to donate Β£1 for our Young Minds fundraiser.

Supporting Attendance and Safeguarding

If your child does not arrive at school, our Attendance Team will contact you after morning registration to inform you and understand the reason for their absence.

This is an important part of our safeguarding responsibilities and helps us work closely with families to promote strong attendance.
In some cases, members of our Attendance or Pastoral Teams may carry out a home visit to check on a pupil's wellbeing, speak with families, and better understand any barriers to attendance so we can work together to provide support.

Thank you for your continued partnership in helping every child attend, achieve, and thrive.
