Smart Boxes diverse systems are created without the need for technical knowledge. Their low cost, size and power usage makes installing scalable distributed systems a straightforward matter. The advantages of Smart Box are its easy setup and Plug and Play feature making it child’s play. Smart Box also has a huge range of Sensors to choose from. Smart Box Sensors are pre-configured and contain the components necessary to take and automatically transmit measurements to a logger and on to the cloud. British Research engineers set out to design such a system and to achieve this they focused on 3 main improvements; Easy, Choice and Versatility.

1. Easy
The Smart Box focus has been to make the whole system plug and play; this makes installation and setting up quick and easy. Engineers can setup up systems in minutes and non-technical users can quickly create their own monitoring solution. The control aspects are plug and play but require an understanding of the equipment you want to control. Other than that the Smart Box system is amazingly easy. The Smart Box and the Logger are plug and play and the sensors have been pre-calibrated to work straight out of the box. Just power on and the system can automatically send/receive data back to and from the cloud.

2. Choice
The second focus was choice. Our engineers have created a Smart Box for every Sensor. Don’t get our engineers wrong, there is a huge range of monitoring systems available as every sensor manufactured has their own Logger. Choice is great, but when you have to learn a new system for each monitoring and control application, it becomes difficult for both the engineers and management. Receiving complaints on how slow and time consuming multiple systems are is a usual factor, especially when having to learn new systems, remember old systems, repair or upgrade and having to add new requirements. The British Research engineers designed the Smart Box System to give you a huge choice of Sensors in one plug and play system. We currently have over a hundred Smart Box Sensors available to choose from and are adding new Smart Box Sensors weekly; just find the Smart Box Sensors that meet your requirements and purchase it. Plug and Play out of the Box. Our engineers want a Smart Box for every Sensors and Transducer available, so anybody can define and build a monitoring and control system based on their requirements. 3.Versatile
Our engineers have designed the Smart Box System to allow any variation of Smart Box Sensors or Controls to be connected at any time. You can mix and match any Smart Box enabling you to build a very unique monitoring and control system very quickly. Each Smart Box is Plug and Play, so adding new Smart Boxes is an easy matter. In just one system you can monitor Soil Temperature, Soil Wetness, Leaf Wetness, Ambient Temperature, Sun Light and then whenever your monitoring requirements change, you can easily add a Water Level Sensors, Vibration, Co2, Dissolved Oxygen or Motion Sensor to the same network. If the sensors exist our engineers want to have a Plug and Play Smart Box for it. The Energy & Renewables Event was a great success. We picked lots interests and enquiries from visitors and the press.

From the product side the new Smart Logger plug & play universal technology was extremely well received.

From R&D side our technology demos went so well, we picked up a number of enquiries from both visitors and exhibitors to develop new Smart products for them and for upgrading existing client’s older products to Smart products.

We have also started early discussions with a number of visitors expressing interest for the distribution of the Smart Box product range in various counties outside the UK.

Our Latest project with National Trust UK is a wireless building monitoring solution for saving them money, time and the environment.

National Trust has a major task ahead with over 300 historic holiday buildings they need to efficiently manage. The problem is confounded as they need to provide a premium service to their guests, reduce operating costs and are not allowed to carry out any modifications to the protected and listed buildings. The National Trust currently relies on the team of people to drive to different locations to turn on and off the lights and heating. This is at a huge expense of staff time and resources. All these buildings are beautiful holiday homes in remote pictureress locations for you to stay.

The British Research’s SmartBox wireless System with its unique feature made an ideal solution, which allows The National Trust monitor all the buildings from anywhere on a mobile app or web browser. They can turn on and off lights and heat remotely to save energy, money and time. With our technology, National Trust also can check the Heaters oil tank so that customers should never run out of oil for their heating. With the support of national trust team we have added anti theft feature by setting thresholds, triggers and alarms to go off in the event oil theft or loss. These Alarms are automatically sent via text or email to the National Trust managers. This all has successfully been installed without any modification or structural work, only power and connecting the wireless devices to the equipment.
