It's that time of year again....it comes round far too quick! A huge thank you to our children and families of Thorngumbald Preschool... once again you have humbled us with your cards and gifts... Red Group, you have done us proud and we wish you all well in your transition to Primary School, enjoy every minute, go show them what you're made of kiddos! Have a wonderful summer everyone and we will see the rest of you in September.... from all the staff at Thorngumbald Preschool...over and out 😍🥰🙌

We would like to announce that after a lot of hard work, late night training and teamwork, we have been awarded the Dingley's Promise Mark of achievement as an inclusion friendly setting!!

We are very proud and honoured to receive this as this shows the commitment and dedication of our preschool staff team and the level of care, support and inclusive practise we provide to all children coming through our doors.

Hot, sleepless nights affect us all, but with a baby it can be especially tough when they struggle to settle. A few simple steps can help keep your little one cool, comfortable and ready for sleep. 👶👇

Hot weather update! ☀️
We are committed to keeping our children as safe and healthy as possible so we are making a couple of small changes:

Suncream 🔆 Please apply suncream before bringing your child to preschool. Please provide a named suncream so we can reapply throughout the day to maintain a high level of protection. Factor 50+ with a 5 star uva rating is best!

Hats and weather appropriate clothing👒: Loose fitting, lightweight clothing is best for this weather.
Please provide named hats for your child/ren to protect them when outdoors (we realise mornings are a big rush so we do have spares if required!)

Routines ⏰: we have made a small alteration to our routine so the children will still be able to access outdoors.

We will be going outside earlier to make use of the shaded garden. ⛱️ Our outdoor classroom also provides shelter from the sun.
🥵 We will aim to avoid peak heat times of between 11am and 3pm.

💦😌 We will be doing more water play and calmer activities to help keep your children as comfortable as possible

Hydration 🚰 Fresh water is available and accessible all day every day with staff reminding children to have a drink more often

Our staff are well trained in first aid and are able to recognise signs of overheating ensuring the best possible care during this heatwave.
