As your child begins their time with us at pre-school, our aim is that they will have an exciting time learning through play, exploration, and fun.

All of our staff aim to support the children in our care with the separation from their parent. For a lot of children this is the first time they have had any kind of separation, and they don’t know or understand that you do come back at collection time. We operate a key worker system with our children, and this allows you, as a parent/carer, to build up a relationship with the member of staff. We

Can you use your imagination to make up a story together, take it in turns to add a bit and extend your child's language. Freely draw or paint pictures to go alongside your story. Encourage and praise your child's efforts and have a giggle along the way.

We hope you've all had a lovely weekend. At Pre-School today the children have some sensory trays to explore in which ever way they choose. Why not make a small one at home too. Have you got any out of date food in the cupboard? Things like stale cereal, out of date baking ingredients, porridge oats, coffee granules or icing sugar can be great and if they're outnof date the food waste is minimised too. Children can tip, pour, mark make, explore the different textures, smells and how different colours and products blend together. Have fun!

Yesterday the children experimented with natural resources outside to make paints and their own pictures. They tried the raspberries for pink, some petals for purple, mud for brown and grass for green. Have a go at home and see what you can find outside to make paints with.

We have been making scarecrows at preschool for The Scarecrows' Wedding. Can you use your imagination with different materials to make one at home?

We hope you've had a wonderful Father's Day. Jeep cool today with some water play. Add some balls with different numbers or letters on them and see what you can catch with your fishing net (a sieve works well too). Wjat sound does your letter make or what number have you caught? Can you count up to your number or backwards from it.

Can you make a toilet roll superhero or superdad? These are really simple to make and could be great for some roleplay or puppet fun when they've dried too.

Pirates love underpants have been in Pre-School and they have left their treasure chest behind! Can you read or listen to our book of the week at home too. What patterns can you find around your home?

How about enjoying some fun sports day activities today? There's the sack race, the 3 legged race, the wheelbarrow race, the egg and spoon race. Your child could even help you to keep score to add some mark making in too.

We're looking at number and quantity at Pre-School this week too. Can you find some numbers at home and match them to a quantity. What would happen if you had one less or one more?

How about some calming mindfulness activities to enjoy together today. Here are a few activities you could try.

Hello everybody, we hope you have been enjoying the sunshine over half term. Our daily activity ideas are back from today and we're starting by looking at symmetry. Can you paint a symmetrical butterfly? Just paint one wing of your butterfly, fold it in half to print your design and you'll see that the wings are now symmetrical. Where else can you find symmetry?
