➡️ Sometimes, stressing the wrong word can completely change the meaning of what you say.
Look at this sentence:
"We didn't say the price would increase."
1️⃣ Stress "didn't" → we denied it, but someone else might have said it.
2️⃣ Stress "price" → the price won't increase, but something else might.
3️⃣ Stress "increase" → the price is changing, just not going up.
Same words. Three different messages.
Now imagine delivering that on a negotiation call- under pressure, in your second languagea and stressing the wrong word.
The client hears something you never meant to say.
This is exactly the kind of issue you can't catch on your own.
