Approach:
Emma plans her lessons adapting to each student's needs and abilities. She teaches positivity and perseverance and explains topics in a straightforward way. Lessons involve working through practice questions, personalised to suit each student. To ensure that students feel confident and well-prepared, she combines targeted topic practice with exam questions involving problem-solving. This means that students cover many styles of questions that appear in the GCSE exams. If appropriate after the session, Emma sets additional practice questions so that students can consolidate their knowledge and then get feedback on their work. Teaching via Zoom makes it easy to communicate verbally and through written methods; using a shared resources folder, Emma works interactively on topics to improve pupils' understanding in a relaxed and productive way.
