🌿 Are you ready, explorers?! 🐞

Our first Try Out Tuesday of 2026 is live on Eventbrite. This one will take place at Camborne Park (The Rec) on 28th July. Here's wazzon:

🌳 Forest School Session (5 × 20-minute bookable time slots)
Take part in a forest school session as you learn how to determine where north, east, south and west are, then creating a soundscape map of each area.

🐛 Buglife Insect Hunt (Drop-in)
Join Buglife as we discover the beautiful insects that inhabit our park. We will use a large net to sweep through the long grass and inspect the creatures up close. This is a great lesson for young ones about biodiversity and respecting nature.

📚 Mobile Library Van (Drop-in)
Step inside the mobile library van and take a look at all the books they have to offer. You can join the library if you aren't already a member, and borrow and return books too! Best of all, it's all free.

We ask that you book tickets ONLY for children - not for adults. Remember that our drop-in sessions don't require booking so you can come along regardless of whether you are attending a ticketed event.

We had our last sesson of 'beach school' at Mexico Towans this morning. All of our children in Years 1,2 and 3 have had the most amazing time exploring the landscape, finding animal bones, collecting shells, spotting animals and insects and learning about how important the dunes are to our area.
Just a selection of the wildlife we have seen: newts, hummingbird hawk moths, cinnabar moth caterpillars, a murmuration of starlings that swooped right over our heads, skylarks, rabbits (and their bones!).
Huge thanks to Jason and Jasmine who have run these sessions and look after this special place!

Year 6 had a lovely transition session this morning with Becky and Wes from Camborne Churches.

The church kindly gifted every Year 6 child an It’s Your Move transition booklet to support them as they prepare for the exciting move to secondary school.

During the session, we talked about some of the challenges that can come with starting a new school, who to turn to if they need help or support, and all of the exciting opportunities that lie ahead. The key message was to stay true to themselves and remember that God made each of us uniquely and wonderfully.

A huge thank you to Becky, Wes and everyone at Camborne Churches for their continued support and generosity. The children can now take these home and continue to work though these throughout the summer holidays to support them.
