Congratulations to Abbeygate's Class of 2022! 🎉

The latest Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) data shows that Abbeygate alumni continue to excel at university, outperforming national averages across multiple sectors.

✅ 87.7% of our 2022 leavers graduated with a First-Class or Upper Second-Class (2:1) degree, exceeding the outcomes achieved by graduates from sixth form colleges, state schools and independent schools nationwide.

✅ Among those studying at Russell Group universities, an outstanding 93% achieved a First or 2:1 degree.

These incredible results reflect the ambition, dedication and hard work of our students, supported every step of the way by our exceptional staff and Careers & Progression Team.

Huge congratulations to Emily on achieving A*A*A in Graphic Communication, English Literature and Film Studies! 🎉📚✨

After an incredible two years at Abbeygate Sixth Form College, Emily is now heading to the University of Cambridge to study English. 🎓

Alongside her academic success, Emily made the most of college life, running clubs, making lifelong friends and exploring her passions across her subjects. She credits the support of her teachers and the opportunities available at Abbeygate for helping her achieve her Oxbridge dream.

Abbeygate Sixth Form student Selina achieved an incredible set of A-level results, earning A*s in Sociology and Graphic Communication, and a B in Psychology! 🎉

Selina, from Bury St Edmunds, is now heading to the University of Leedss to study Art History.

Like many students, Selina approached Results Day feeling nervous and uncertain about what was ahead. Reflecting on the moment she received her results, she said:

"I was really prepared to go into Clearing because I was just so afraid. But I got the grades I really wanted."

Selina credits the support she received at Abbeygate for helping her succeed, highlighting both her teachers and student services for creating a welcoming environment where she could thrive.

"Everyone is just so friendly. It is really daunting starting a new college, but they settle you in quite quickly."

Now, she's looking forward to meeting like-minded people at university, pursuing her passion for art history, and embracing the next chapter of her journey. 🎨📚

Huge congratulations to Rocco on achieving an A* in History and A grades in Economics and Mathematics! 🎉👏

This September, Rocco will be taking the next step on his journey as he heads to the University of Nottingham.

Rocco's achievement is a fantastic example of resilience, determination and hard work. After being diagnosed with dyslexia in Year 10, he received the support he needed and went on to achieve outstanding results. His success is a testament to the effort he has put in throughout his studies.

During his time at Abbeygate Sixth Form College, Rocco embraced new opportunities, gained confidence and independence, and made lasting memories, including a history trip to Berlin. He credits the support of his teachers and the college community for helping him thrive.

💬 "Every time I've needed anything, the teachers and support staff have always been there."

His advice to anyone considering Abbeygate?

💬 "Go ahead. It is absolutely amazing. It is a great step, especially for independence."

Welcome to A Level PE 🌟

Are you a practical athlete, or more interested in the science and psychology behind performance? Either way, this subject could be the perfect fit.

Taught by Justin Bishop, A Level PE is one of the broadest subject options at Abbeygate Sixth Form. You’ll explore a range of disciplines, including Biology, Psychology, Sociology and Physics, giving you a strong foundation for a variety of future pathways.
