🎄🌟🎄🌟🎄Christmas stocking filler! 🌲🌟£8🌟🌲

Set of 5 rhyming pairs, each with their initial sound displayed on one side.

They can be used to support the teaching of rhyme and letter sounds but the thing I love most is their potential to support communication and language.

We played rhyming pairs with a set of these a few days ago and at the end decided to make stories up about the wooden rounds that we had.

Christmas is around the corner! 🎄🤶🎅⛄❄️

We don't normally start thinking about it until at least after Halloween but I'm too exited to wait this year!

Christmas themed bags now available. Each bag contains a rhyming Christmas themed hunt, accompanying each clue is either a piece of santa, a craft activity a toy or some reindeer food! A festive writing pencil and some colouring pens also included! (craft activities may vary slightly from the picture)

Perfect for the weekends leading up to Christmas!

Each bag £6.50

Activities can be duplicated for siblings for a small additional cost.

The last few Halloween boxes were delivered last week just before half term hit. I cannot thank you all enough for your support!

If you missed out on the Halloween packs, don't worry, Christmas is on its way and Christmas activity bags are already being created.

Children learn best when they are happy, feel safe and share an enjoyment for what they are doing. These boxes are designed to be FUN, first and foremost. The academic expectations of children have increased over the years and the activities included in each box aim to deliver fundamentals enabling your child to develop a love of learning before starting school and throughout their first school year.

Letterbox Phonics is a new business. I am learning something new everyday. I feel so grateful for all of your support along the way, whether it be liking or commenting on a post, ordering a box, taking the time to write a review or simply popping me a message to say hi!

If you have come across the boxes on this page, ordered a box or share a love for early childhood education, please can you offer any suggestions, advice, what has worked, what hasn't, what would you like to see in the future. I have loved reading reviews and they have all been lovely but I am under no illusion there may have been activities that perhaps weren't as enjoyable as others or that perhaps didn't work as well. This feedback will really help improve my service to you and others in the future.

Packaging challenge!

What can you make using the cardboard box and tissue paper your activities arrive in?

We have used the cardboard and tissue paper as well as the eyes and pipe cleaners from the spider game (after we played it numerous times of course) to create a wicked witch! Another decoration to make our house spooky ready for Halloween!

I would love to see your creations by reusing and recycling materials that would otherwise be binned! Get creative and send me your pictures!

With the rainy weather today, we decided to stay in and make our paper pumpkins with a battery operated tea light. The Halloween craft box comes complete with everything needed to create a pumpkin as well as a reusable glue spreader! A lovely homemade addition to your Halloween decorations!

Now it's October we can officially fill our weekends with Halloween fun! With a few DIY jobs happening around the house and the girls wanting to 'help', I thought what better way to save the walls, exercise some creativity and strengthen their little hand and finger muscles at the same time!

We're saving the rhyming treasure hunt for the weekend but can't wait for the excitement of running around the house searching for the next clue... and sweets of course!

Each box is £10 but extras can be added for siblings at a small additional cost.

In each Halloween box, you will find:

A rhyming treasure hunt,
Sweets for each clue,
A reusable Halloween bag,
Paper activities and a Halloween pencil,
A skeleton to assemble,
A glow stick,
Some Halloween paper chains,

With the weather being wet and super windy today, we started some seasonal crafts. This one is included in the Halloween themed pack, any guesses what it is? 😂

It's not even October yet and we're already thinking about the next excuse to have a party, eat lots of sweets and have lots of fun!

Our Halloween themed boxes include:
10 treasure hunt tags,
10 sweets,
A set of skeleton bones to be attached together,
A pumpkin craft activity,
A 2 player spider making game,
A Halloween pencil and paper activities,
Some paper chains to decorate your house,
A Halloween themed bag to collect your clues and sweeties in!

As always with 'Letterbox Phonics' activities, the aim is to have fun with hidden learning included!

These boxes support the awareness of rhyme, early writing and mark making exploration, the awareness of our bodies, as well as creating lots of lovely language and communication opportunities and social skills such as turn taking!

Lovely name box delivered to a little girl who has just turned 3!
It's never too early to start on name recognition!
Each name box comes complete with a magnetic name set to be decorated, a reusable name writing practice sheet but the most exciting part are the activities.
Yes, some may be a little messy, some may be a little crazy, but often the craziest and messiest are the most fun and memorable!

We went on a lovely walk today and found some samaras. We broke them in half and threw them up watching them spin around as they fell. We likened them to helicopter propellers and decided to focus on the phoneme 'h'. Please say hello to Howard, our new pet hedgehog 😂 pine cones and sticks or leaves make great little creatures!

Happy Bank Holiday weekend!!

After a lot of pestering to raid the craft supplies, I made Tallulah her very own name box. She has such a long name, a name that everyone spells differently, so encouraging her to recognise her name, the sounds within it and begin to understand where each letter is positioned is a big task but one I feel is beneficial as she begins to show an interest in this area of learning.
