Are you trying to understand your child's behaviours, routines, worries, or emotional struggles? Sometimes it can be difficult to know whether what you're seeing is anxiety, autism, OCD, or a combination of factors. Many children are misunderstood, leaving parents feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, and searching for answers.

Whether your child has a diagnosis, is awaiting assessment, or you're simply looking for a better understanding of what they're experiencing, this session will leave you feeling informed, reassured, and equipped with tools you can start using straight away.

Many parents and carers notice behaviours in their children that leave them wondering what's really going on. Is it anxiety? Is it autism? Is it OCD? Or could it be a combination of factors?

The reality is that autism and OCD can sometimes look very similar on the surface, making it difficult for parents, carers, and even professionals to distinguish between them.

Understanding the difference is important because the support your child needs may vary depending on what's driving the behaviour.

Some signs can include:
🩵 A strong need for routines and predictability
🩷Repetitive behaviours or rituals
🧡High levels of anxiety when routines change
💚Intrusive or distressing thoughts
💜Difficulty managing uncertainty

The good news is that understanding these patterns can help you respond with greater confidence and compassion.

You don’t have to figure it out alone, message us if you’d like support.

Our upcoming “Autism and OCD in Children” workshop is this week! ⏰

This online session offers a clear, compassionate look at how autism and OCD can show up in children - sometimes separately, sometimes intertwined, and often in ways that are misunderstood as “behaviour issues”, “defiance”, or “just anxiety”.

Social situations can feel challenging for many people, but for neurodivergent individuals, there can sometimes be additional factors underneath those feelings.

Social anxiety and neurodivergence can overlap in different ways and may look different from person to person.

Some experiences may include:
💚 Feeling overwhelmed in busy or noisy environments🩵 Worrying about saying the "wrong" thing in conversations💜 Finding social situations mentally exhausting💛 Feeling pressure to mask or fit in🩷 Overthinking interactions afterwards

It’s important to remember that this isn’t about being "bad at socialising" or needing to simply "try harder."

Understanding your experiences can be the first step towards finding strategies and support that work for you 🌱

You are not alone, and your experiences are valid.

Kindness doesn’t always have to be something big 💜

For neurodivergent people, kindness can sometimes look different, and the smallest things can make a huge difference.

Many neurodivergent people spend so much time adapting, masking, or caring for others that showing themselves the same kindness can easily be forgotten.

🌱 Small acts of self-compassion are not selfish, they’re important.

💬 We’d love to hear from you: what act of kindness will you choose for yourself today?
