A very busy few weeks in the garden. New soil, realigned borders, out with the copious amount of weeds strangling my plants. A new border reclaimed ready for planting (& watering over the next few months) . I’ve got a selection of plants waiting, some from seed, some I’ve grown on over several years, some new. The greenhouse is also busting at the seems with seedlings. Keeps me out of mischief I suppose.

Beautiful artwork from Julia.

Sometimes people ask me how long it takes to create my paintings. The work I do is quite detailed, and these wooden eggs, for example, each took several hours. Each miniature illustration is a unique painting in itself!

I become really absorbed in mixing the colours and carefully illustrating each one and it’s easy for two or three hours to go by without me realising it.

It’s a nice way to work though, I’m quite meticulous and won’t put my brushes down until I’m 100% happy with my work.

Gouache paintings on solid beechwood eggs.

I adore the creativity that surrounds Christmas so will look forward to sharing some items I enjoy. Let’s start with this lovely collection. I can also personally vouch for them too having purchased several both for myself & as gifts last year. See the Page for more. Enjoy.
