Out of School Achievement!

On Friday evening, Brooke B in year 7 represented Burnley Cricket Club in their victory over Darwen CC and delivered a truly outstanding performance. Taking 5 wickets, including a hat-trick in a single over, she played a key role in her team's success.

As the only girl playing in the match, Brooke's skill, determination and sportsmanship stood out throughout the game. Her performance particularly impressed Mrs Hammond-Phillips, whose son was playing for the opposition, and who was keen to recognise Brooke's exceptional achievement. We are delighted to recognise her achievement and excellent representation of the school with an SLT Commendation.

A huge congratulations to Year 8 students Emily F and Summer W, and Year 11 students Madi I and Alyssa T!

Representing Clarets Cheer and Dance this weekend, they competed in the Under 18 Dance Championship and were crowned European Champions, winning their division against teams from across Europe.

The team was also awarded a prestigious Florida Summit Bid, a fantastic achievement that gives them the opportunity to compete at one of the world’s most respected cheer and dance events in the United States, representing their club, town and country on an international stage.

This incredible success is the result of countless hours of dedication, training, teamwork and commitment. Well done to all involved!

HORIZONS DAY FEST:

Burnley Youth Theatre are hosting a free teen festival at Burnley Youth Theatre on Saturday 23 May.

There are lots of exciting creative taster workshops from 1pm - 3pm with a film screening on Scott Pilgrim Vs The World with free popcorn and ice cream from 3pm to close the event.

Year 9 T1 Mix Rugby Event!

On Wednesday 20 May, nine year 9 students attended a T1 Rugby fixture against FisherMore High School. After a quick start, the team settled into an attacking rhythm, scoring some impressive tries throughout the game. Well done to everyone involved!

Congratulations to the 21 students who recently completed their Silver DofE expedition!

The students showed fantastic resilience, teamwork and determination throughout the expedition, although there may have been a little less sleep for some thanks to one student’s impressive snoring!

A big thank you as well to Elaine's Tearooms, Feizor for looking after our students and staff throughout the expedition.
