This Black History Month, we’re celebrating the incredible Black artists who have shaped and transformed the world of art, music, dance, theatre and film.

From challenging stereotypes to breaking barriers and inspiring future generations, their creativity, talent and powerful stories have left a lasting impact on the arts.

Year 7 Girls T1 Rugby!

On Tuesday 13 October, our Year 7 girls took on Blessed Trinity in their first T1 rugby fixture, showcasing excellent attacking play and some fantastic defensive contributions throughout the game! The girls demonstrated great teamwork, determination and enthusiasm, making it a brilliant first outing for the team.

Year 7 Football Result!

What a start to the season! On Monday 12 October, our Year 7 boys secured an impressive 7–3 victory against Archbishop Temple in the first round of the English Cup!

In their first match as a team, the boys showed fantastic determination against a tough opponent. After the game was tied at 3–3, they dug deep, took their chances and pulled away to earn a well-deserved win.

Out-of-School Achievement!

A huge congratulations to Valeriia S, who competed in the British Taekwondo Championships in Manchester during the first weekend of October!

Showing incredible skill, determination and dedication, she secured 1st place in the Junior Under-52kg category, becoming UK Champion!

An outstanding achievement for both Valeriia and her club. We are incredibly proud of her success and look forward to seeing what she achieves next! Well done, Valeriia!

Year 11 parents and carers, our first Parents' Evening of the academic year is not far away! This is an opportunity to sit down with your child's teachers and discuss their progress, raise any concerns and identify how they should prepare for their upcoming Mock examinations.

Appointments can now be made via SchoolCloud. A link has been sent through Synergy for you to start making these appointments. If you have any issues with booking an appointment or are unable to attend Parents' Evening but would like feedback, please contact your child's Form Tutor.

Fake or Real Know the Deal Campaign:

Fake or Real? Know the Deal is Lancashire Police’s response to prevent harm by increasing awareness and understanding of AI-generated threats (including deepfakes) among young people, parents and communities.

Deepfakes are becoming more common online. These AI-generated images and videos can make it look like someone has said or done something they never actually did. For young people, deepfake content can be confusing, upsetting and, in some cases, used to cause harm.

A simple conversation can make a big difference: Talk about what deepfakes are, encourage critical thinking before sharing content, remind young people to speak to a trusted adult if something doesn't feel right.

Together, we can help young people stay safer online.
