🎨🖍️ Social Skills in Action 🖍️🎨
Our learners have been enjoying a fun social skills session playing Pictionary! 🖼️✨
Through drawing, guessing and plenty of laughter, our learners have been developing so many important skills without even realising how much learning is taking place! 💚
🗣️ Communication – explaining ideas, sharing guesses and expressing thoughts.
👂 Active listening – listening carefully to others and taking on board their ideas. 🤝 Teamwork – working together towards a shared goal and supporting one another.
⏳ Turn-taking and patience – waiting for a turn and giving everyone the opportunity to participate.
🧠 Problem-solving – thinking creatively and working out what others are trying to communicate.
🎨 Creativity and imagination – using drawings and visual clues to represent ideas.
😊 Emotional regulation – managing excitement, frustration and the ups and downs of the game.
💪 Confidence and self-esteem – having a go, sharing ideas and celebrating successes.
👀 Social awareness – recognising others' contributions, reading visual clues and responding appropriately.
🌟 Resilience – learning that it's okay if others don't guess straight away and keeping a positive attitude.
Most importantly, we practised having fun together, celebrating each other's efforts and recognising that everyone has something valuable to contribute. 💚
