Charity for the Youth of the community We are a community charity that works to provide activities for the children and the youth in the community.

We do not discriminate as we believe "Every child Matters". We provide all sorts of activities. At the moment we are running our Dreams in Action project which delivers Dance, Drama, Singing, Keyboard and Guitar Tuition. Just message the page and one of the team will reply. All our sessions are Currently £3 per child, so extremely good value for money. At times we arrange trips and residential activity weekends, so you really need to follow us to see what is on offer at any given time :)x

Hi everyone,

Hope you’re all keeping well 🥰

We are hoping to restart our group piano & music theory sessions as soon as we are able to do so.

We would love to welcome as many students back as possible and it would be awesome to have some new faces joining us too!

I’m trying to get an idea of numbers to work out logistics & hopefully start compiling class lists.

If you are interested in re-joining our group sessions when they recommence or want some further info, please message me.

Thanks,
Danielle Allerton

Good morning to our Charity family and supporters

It is with a heavy heart I make the following announcement. After much deliberation and thought Mom (Mrs Patricia Davies MBE - secretary of the Charity) and I have made the difficult decision to retire. We have both run the Avenues Community Association Charity since it’s inception in 1996, and we both feel it’s time to hang up our “Top Hats”. Sadly as there isn’t anyone experienced enough to carry on running the charity this also means we will have to close the charity x

This year has been very bad for so many people and Covid19 has had a disastrous effect on so many. At present we still cannot offer classes in what we feel would be a safe environment.

Additionally we no longer have tutors for guitar and drums, and Sadly Sophie Moseley our female Dance instructor will be leaving us for a new adventure of her own. Congratulations to Sophie on gaining her university placement and we wish her the best of luck for the future. Unfortunately for safe guarding Reasons my Son Danial Worrallo cannot run the dance lessons on his own.

An important aspect of any charity is the funding and grant opportunities. Funding is getting progressively harder to obtain. With Covid-19 funding is being given to those charities who are starting new projects to help people cope with circumstances of Covid-19.

I will be speaking to Danielle Allerton Danielle's Music School about the possibility of continuing group piano lessons later this week as I feel sure the trustees of the charity will not mind Danielle using the pianos to continue running classes. But that decision will be Danielle’s to make.

We have had an incredible 24 years running the charity. We have had the amazing experience and opportunity of working with so many children and young people. All of whom will always be part of the Avenues Community Association Charity family.

So many individuals have helped us run so many activities and if I named them all it would be a considerably lengthy list.

I would like to thank every single person who has supported the charity, in whatever capacity,as everyone has had an integral part in making so many successes over the years.

From a personal perspective I would like to take this opportunity to thank my Mom for the opportunity to work at her side to deliver so many fun and exciting activities and experiences to so many children and young people over the years. Many of whom coming from disadvantaged and under privileged areas. For the opportunity to help young people change the “ I can’t” to “ I did it”.

I would like to keep the Dreams in Action group open so that we may share our children’s achievements with the “family” we have created and celebrate their successes together.

I am so very sorry we cannot continue to offer and continue with the activities, but I would like to think we have given the children a firm foundation upon which they can build a successful future.

The team will be putting together a farewell video which we hope to share with you in the near future.

If any of our tutors ever require a reference please don’t hesitate to contact me.

I wish everyone the very best of luck for the future and I look forward to watching the children grow, aspire and achieve their Dreams x

With much love
Jane Davies Worrallo

Hi everyone.
Following on from the PMs advice yesterday, which included, all non essential face to face group gatherings should be cancelled, we have made the decision to cancel all DIA activities until further notice.

Our priority is to ensure all DIA children, parents and tutors remain safe and healthy.

We absolutely do intend to restart sessions as soon as the recent coronavirus issues have been eradicated or are at least controlled.

Rest assured we will maintain planning class lessons and will keep everyone informed.

Thank you for your understanding did on going support

Very kindest regards

Hi everyone just thought I would keep everyone updated. We held a trustee meeting last Friday. I am sure many parents will be aware that Emily Nelson our PR and advertising manager has been taking a more active role and working closely with the DIA team to ensure we are compliant with safe guarding legislation and regulations. Emily has also been working with the team assisting where needed to help plan future showcases. In light of how actively involved Emily now is the trustees unanimously decided to promote Emily to the role of Vice chair. Which, fortunately for us, Emily graciously accepted.

Our vision is to bring on board like minded young people like Emily whom we can work with and make ready to take over from us older Trustees. We need young people who can bridge that gap with the younger generation, who can bring new, fresh, exciting ideas to the table, who have the drive and passion to continue running the charity in the event we oldies decide to retire. Patricia Davies MBE (mom) and I have volunteered for the charity since 1996 and have loved every minute of it, but the sign of good leaders is to recognise it is time to bring in new, young, passionate people to take the charity into the future. So, if you are aged 18+ and feel you have that something special to bring to the table, then please contact the team. We would love to welcome new trustees. The role of trustee is voluntary but you will gain so much experience and the fact you volunteer for a charity looks great on your cv.

Our door is open, please, step through and join us

Kind regards
