Reception had an amazing time on our trip to Twycross Zoo this week and it was lovely to see some of the animals that we have talked about this year. The children were so sensible, well behaved and an absolute credit to our school and their families. Thank you also to all the adults who supported on the trip, it is really appreciated🦍🦓

Our Year 2 and LB children enjoyed a brilliant day at the Sea Life Centre, turning curiosity into real‑life discovery as they explored the underwater world up close. The trip linked beautifully with our science and geography learning, giving children the chance to see some of the habitats and animals they have studied this year. A favourite stop was the Gentoo penguins, which connected perfectly to our work on Antarctica. Children were delighted to watch them waddle, swim, and play🐠🐧

Despite the heat causing a number of challenges, Year 1 had a fabulous time at West Midlands Safari Park today. We saw rhinos, lions and giraffes on the drive through safari and we got up close and personal with the goats, lemurs and meerkats on our guided tour through the African village🦁🐧🦏

What a wonderful morning LB had with Matchborough First School this week! As part of our English and Humanities learning, we spent the morning with Matchborough LB taking part in some beach themed fun. We split into teams and made obstacle courses for our friends to complete, we played in their giant sandpit, had a picnic and even watched a Punch and Judy show. We ended the morning eating ice creams that Matchborough had made just for us. Thank you for having us Matchborough - we hope to be back soon to play with our new friends!🏝️👩🏼‍🤝‍👩🏾👨🏾‍🤝‍👨🏻

Look at our wonderful clay animals that we made in Reception. We took great care moulding the clay to make a wild animal, before carefully choosing colours to decorate it once it had dried. I wonder if we will spot any of these creatures when we go to Twycross Zoo🐍🦁

What a pleasure it was to have BBC News in school today, sharing the story of our parents' fundraising campaign. With temperatures set to rise again this week, the need for appropriate cooling measures is growing evermore important🪭😅

We would like to say a huge thank you to Worcestershire County Council Public Health Innovation Grant for their generous funding. Thanks to this support we have been able to purchase a natural four space wooden easel, which has encouraged creativity and helped children develop both their fine and gross motor skills. The funding has enabled us to enhance our learning environment with a comfortable sofa for the reading area, a circular loose parts play storage unit and a natural wooden storage and play unit. These resources have made a significant difference to our Nursery and we are very grateful👨🏽‍🎨🛋️
