🇬🇷 More creative learning in our younger classes!
Recently, our students explored the letter Α (άλφα) by creating their own colourful αερόστατα. 🎈
A fun, hands-on way to support their learning and keep things engaging.
Here’s a little look 💙

Last Saturday, we said a temporary goodbye to Mrs Kyriaki as she begins her maternity leave.
Having been part of Bromley Greek Language School since day one, it was a very emotional moment for pupils, parents, teachers and volunteers alike.
Over the years, Mrs Kyriaki has taught and supported so many of our students, so it was especially meaningful for the children to give her a card filled with their messages and wishes, along with a small gift from our community to thank her for everything she has given to our school.
We are so grateful for all her years of dedication and care, and we wish her all the very best for this exciting new chapter 💐
We look forward to welcoming her back in the future 💙

This past weekend, we celebrated the 1st of May at school, by making our own flower wreaths through arts and crafts.
Our younger classes enjoyed this colourful activity inspired by the Greek tradition of Πρωτομαγιά 🌸

🍊🇬🇷 Greek learning… with a fruity twist!
In our younger classes, we use creative and experiential activities to support language learning. Recently our beginners made a fruit salad, using Greek vocabulary to talk about what they were cutting, mixing and tasting - from fruit names to colours and textures.
A simple activity they really enjoyed, and a great way to connect language with everyday experiences. Get a little taster here ☺

Χριστός Ανέστη! 🇬🇷
We hope everyone had a lovely Easter, filled with special traditions - from red eggs and τσουρέκι, to time spent with loved ones.
We’re looking forward to welcoming our students back to school this Saturday.
Before the break, the whole school came together for a fun Easter egg hunt, with lots of excitement as the children searched, discovered, and enjoyed the activity together. 🐣
Here’s a little look at those moments 💙

Last Saturday our younger classes celebrated Mother’s Day with arts and crafts, creating special handmade cards for their mums and the special women who care for them.
Through these activities we talked about love (αγάπη), tenderness (τρυφερότητα), care (φροντίδα) and gratitude (ευγνωμοσύνη) - beautiful words and feelings to learn in any language.
The children were very proud of their creations - take a look at them here 💗

Greek letters and vocabulary come to life through arts and crafts in our younger classes.
Recently, we created ομπρέλες for Omikron and explored colours and textures with a simple (and fun!) science activity in the playground.
We’re always looking for creative ways to learn - and happy to share a little of what we’ve been up to 🥰

At our school, we focus on helping our students become familiar with Greek traditions. 🇬🇷
This year, just like every year, we made our own Μαρτάκια - the red and white handmade bracelets worn in March to protect children from the early spring sun. ☀
The children enjoyed creating and wearing their bracelets, while learning about the meaning behind this lovely custom.
Take a look at their handmade bracelets here 📷

📣 Our Latest News 🇬🇷
Our students welcomed the term with the beautiful tradition of cutting the Vasilopita 🍰 within their classes, learning about this special custom and celebrating together — with great excitement for the lucky coin!
We then closed the half-term with our joyful Apokriatiko Party 🎭
Students and volunteers enjoyed a wonderful day of costumes, music, dancing, musical chairs and laughter — the perfect festive send-off before the break.
A special thank you to Mrs Kyriaki for organising beautiful crafts for the children, and to Miss Kleopatra for the much-loved balloon twisting.
As every year, Mrs Markella was the star of the party, bringing everything together and taking care of every little detail.
Our volunteer parents, volunteers, teachers and assistants were all wonderful, supporting the children and helping throughout the celebrations.

🇬🇷 📖 Building confidence in Greek, through reading!📚
Our older classes have been making great use of our school library, choosing Greek books to borrow and read at home.
Being able to read stories in Greek is a big step in their learning journey, and it’s wonderful to watch them enjoy it together.
Here’s a little look at some of their book picks 📖👇
