Carly joined our team in February this year, and here is what she says about working at The Lodge🏡 I still remember how it felt when I first walked into the lodge in February this year. There was something different in the air - something warm, welcoming, and genuine. It didn’t feel like just another workplace. It felt like stepping into a family.
From the very beginning, that sense only grew stronger. Everyone supported one another, and there was a real feeling of belonging that made each day special. At the heart of it all was Natasha, whose kindness and care shaped the environment around us. She had a way of making everyone feel valued, always offering support and encouragement whenever it was needed.
As time went on, I found myself looking forward to coming into work each day. Being part of the lodge family wasn’t just enjoyable—it was meaningful. I felt seen and appreciated, and my skills didn’t go unnoticed. Knowing that what I brought to the team mattered gave me a sense of pride and confidence.
What started as a new beginning quickly became something much more—a place where I could grow, contribute, and truly feel at home. Wow Carly ✨ what beautiful words, this means so much, we are so lucky to have you x x x

Wednesday was World Bee Day 🐝 and throughout the week we’ve been busy celebrating through lots of creative learning. Our Little Lodgers enjoyed creating their own bees using sponges and paint. We made also honey biscuits and explored bee-inspired messy play in the Rising Twos room. Our Preschoolers asked so many wonderful questions and learnt all about the important role bees play in sustaining people and the environment. 💛🍯

Our Rising Twos enjoyed a lovely activity inspired by the story ‘Sharing a Shell.’ First they decorated their own shells. Then, we extended the activity, with our Little Lodgers cleaning the shells with Kelly to make them look brand new again! Well done, Little Lodgers! 🐚

Our Gardening Patch 🌱 We have potatoes, strawberries, tomatos, peppers and pumpkins sprouting, alongside sunflowers lovingly planted by our Pre-School Lodgers🍓🌻🍅

Gardening helps build patience, encourages responsibility, supports fine motor skills, and sparks curiosity about the world around them 💚 Watching something grow from seed to plant is pure magic!

This week at The Lodge, we explored the magic of water colour mixing 🎨 Our Little Lodgers used pipettes and squeeze tubes to mix colours and experiment during play. Activities like this support the development of fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and finger strength, all crucial to support early writing skills. Well done, Little Lodgers! 💧

Our Little Lodgers love being outdoors, exploring and interacting with their environment. When this Little Lodger found a tiny baby snail in the garden, he gently picked it up with so much care and curiosity! He found it a safe new home and said a sweet goodbye. 🐌Moments like these remind us how naturally children care for the world around them. We love seeing our little ones showing kindness and appreciation for nature every day. 💚
