Our woodland adventure reached new heights today as our brave explorers discovered a magnificent stick den nestled among the trees! Dressed in their high-vis safety vests, the children peeked inside, ducked under sturdy wooden branches, and ventured right into the heart of their forest hideaway.
Exploring natural structures outdoors provides incredible, multi-layered learning opportunities. Navigating uneven forest ground and ducking beneath large logs builds gross motor skills, balance, and spatial awareness. Our neighbourhood walk turned into an exciting literacy treasure hunt today as the children paused to explore a green street sign reading "Crescent Drive"! Dressed in their high-vis safety vests, our eagle-eyed learners reached out to touch the bold white lettering, pointing out shapes, tracing the curves with their fingers, and spotting familiar letters in the wild.
Spotting environmental print on local outings brings immense developmental value to early years learning. We took an exciting field trip to the local pet shop today on a very important mission: choosing a new pet for our preschool room! 🐾🐠

They leaned in close to admire the colourful fish swimming in their tanks, peered into cages at chirping birds, watched hamsters scampering through wood shavings, and took a close look at a slow-moving tortoise!
