Playdough is often dismissed as "just play," but, it’s basically a gym for a child's brain and hands!

Playdough is actually a powerhouse tool for development.

Here is what’s happening when your child "squishes" at preschool:

*Writing Readiness: Rolling and pinching builds the tiny hand muscles (fine motor skills) needed to hold a pencil later on.

*The Science of Squish: We explore math and science by measuring ingredients, observing textures, and counting "pizzas."

*Emotional Anchor: Its tactile nature is incredibly calming, helping children regulate their big feelings and build focus.

*Language & Logic: Whether they are describing a "sticky dragon" or figuring out how to make a tower stand, they are building vocabulary and problem-solving skills.

Next time you see a playdough creation, ask them to tell you the story behind it!

Our "Colours Orchestra" was in full swing today! 🎶 From the loud beat of the drums to the gentle jingle of bells, the children explored it all.

The highlight? Seeing our 2, 3, and 4-year-olds practicing the art of sharing. 🤝 It’s more than just music; it’s about building a community of kind, curious learners.

We have been very busy at Colours at St Paul's Pre-school this term.
We have been enjoying the autumn activities and we have been cooking every week.
We love cooking together and then we share the food with our families.
