Happy New Year to all!

Stanton Drew Strings is starting back up for 2026 with some new dates!
I will need at least 4 sign ups minimum to be able to run these sessions!

Learning an instrument is such a fantastic opportunity to learn a new life skill, have fun while building confidence, and meet new people.

Anyone at any age can learn something new! Pop me a message if you have any questions!

Research shows that the fastest way to support a child’s brain growth is not extra homework, but music. Just one year of music lessons can increase IQ by an average of seven points. This effect highlights how engaging with music stimulates multiple areas of the brain, including memory, attention, and spatial reasoning.

Learning an instrument requires coordination, focus, and practice, which strengthens neural connections and improves cognitive skills beyond music alone. Children who participate in music lessons often show better problem-solving abilities, enhanced language skills, and improved academic performance overall.

Even short, consistent sessions can make a difference. Group lessons, piano, violin, or singing all provide similar benefits because the brain thrives on structured learning combined with creativity. Music also supports emotional development, helping children express themselves and manage stress.

Parents and caregivers can encourage musical activities early, whether through formal lessons, singing at home, or exploring instruments together. The mental boost gained from just a year of music can have lasting effects, setting children up for stronger learning, focus, and creativity throughout their lives.
