Donate to Grace and Lucy’s pretty muddy 5k for cancer research, organized by Grace Morton-Sherwood 21/05/2026

Two of our students (in Year 9 and Year 11) are taking part in the Pretty Muddy 5K this year in memory of two of their close family members, as well as many other friends and former teachers who are currently battling cancer.

They have decided to do this because they understand that cancer affects so many people and their families, and are trying to raise as much money as possible for Cancer Research UK to help fund treatments and, possibly, even a cure.

Any donations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your support!

Participants needed! Study about parental use of electronic monitoring

A project being run by researchers at the University of Bath is looking for children in Year 7 or 8 and their parents to take part in a short online study looking at the use of technology in parental monitoring! By conducting research in this area, we hope to build a stronger evidence base that can help inform guidance and advice for families in this ever-developing world. This study has been approved by the University of Bath Ethics Approval Committee under the ethics approval code: 14312-18644. To find out more about this study and what you will be asked to do please click on the participation information sheet for parents or children. Alternatively, you can contact the lead researcher on [email protected]. These information sheets will be repeated at the start of the study and, if both you and your child are happy to complete this study, it can be accessed here.

Many thanks in advance.

Who knew there were so many different jobs working with trees!!!

Some of our Year 9 students have been taking part in the Green Skills Programme which equips young people with the information, skills, and knowledge required to access the huge range of 'green' jobs that will be available to them in the future.

Last week we visited The Arboricultural Association who are the leading organisation in the UK for tree care.

Students learnt about lots of different jobs including the management of trees, trees safety, and how drones are used to record trees in our countryside.

The weather was kind(ish) and we had a great day learning about 'green' jobs.
