Creatives ways to explore ice, using salt, warm water, filling/emptying utensils and vessels. We also used ice as a paint brush, achieving beautiful child led paintings by all the children.

Celebrating World Book Day this week at our network group, enjoying some Gruffalo themed activities, including making a book mark, literacy, maths and a Deep Dark Woods Tuff Spot and of course the children dressed up in their chosen World Book Day costumes!

Throughout this week many of the children have been involved in activities to mark Remembrance Day 2018. This has included visiting the community poppy installations including the ' 100 poppies ' one of which was sponsored on behalf of the children and Portishead Childminders. We have made poppies for them to take home and share with their families and had discussions about remembering those people who died in conflicts . This was supported by watching the Remembrance film produced by cbeebies aimed at early years .

A lovely morning creating vegetable print paintings. We also made our own fruit snacks, chopping up our fruit, practicing our cutting skills and threading our favourite fruits on kebab sticks. Delicious 😋🍎🍌🍇🍓🍍🥒

The children enjoyed getting into the celebrations of the up coming Royal Wedding! They all made decorative crowns, playdoh cupcakes and had fun wearing Prince and Princess masks during songtime with lots of fun role play.

This week at our Network Group we made Winter Vegetable Soup.
We practised our cutting skills using various seasonal vegetables and also created paintings and prints.
The finished product was enjoyed by the children, who enjoyed a delicious warming and healthy snack.

Portishead Childminders and their children visited the amazing Norewood Lodge on Monday. We visited the local residents and brought them all some new year cheer. The Children sang songs, played games and spoke with the residents. Thank you for letting us come and play and spend time with you all.

Two Childminder Christmas get togethers this year...

Last week marked the annual pre school party including ever popular puppet show and visit from Santa.

Today was a get together for all our children. Lots of festive craft activities, Christmas singing and some outdoor fun . We've had a lovely year with friends of all ages . Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas from Portishead Childminders and a very happy 2018 🎉🎅🎄🌟🎉🎅🎄🌟🎉🎅🎄🌟🎉🎅

Fun festive morning creating Christmas tree collages on pegs. We practiced out threading using recycled Christmas cards and enjoyed our festive songtime together.

A fantastic fun morning raising money for Children in Need!

Children dressed in yellow or Pudsey Bear outfits. They created Pudsey Bear Paintings and decorated yellow 'spotty' biscuits.
Lots of free play in the sand tuff spot and cardboard boxes and tube fun using their imaginations.
In total we raised £60 in total for Children in need (special thankyou Portishead Children's Centre for your kind donation)
