🍝 What does promoting a healthy relationship with food look like at Meli Poppins?
It’s about so much more than whats on the plate. Here our preschoolers hopped on the bus to , where they chose and bought the ingredients for their own tea. Back at nursery, they got to work - making fresh pasta from scratch using our pasta machine, chopping and preparing the ingredients for their sauce, and finally sitting down together to enjoy the delicious meal they had created. 🍅🌿🍝
And the learning didn’t stop once the cooking was finished. As we ate together, we talked about the whole process - the ingredients we had chosen, the smells, textures, colours and flavours, what we enjoyed and how our food had changed as we prepared and cooked it.
For us, promoting healthy eating isn’t about simply telling children which foods are “healthy”. It’s about giving them meaningful, hands-on experiences with food - choosing it, preparing it, cooking it, tasting it and enjoying it together.
Building confidence, curiosity and a positive relationship with food from the very beginning. ✨
From shop, to kitchen, to table - all made by little hands. 🤍
