I’m making a 60 second video for the Screwfix Top Tradesperson semi-final, and ironically, for someone who spends her life encouraging other people out of their comfort zone, I love this bit about as much as I love unblocking a drain.

🏆Semi-finals of Screwfix Top Tradesperson - again.

Back in 2016 I won the South West Regional final and made the national final at Wembley.

Last year no women made it to the final at all. That’s exactly why I put myself forward this time.

Astrid Arnold’s win in 2023 was a big part of it too. A brilliant Tradesperson using her skills to get more women to learn practical skills, just like I do here in Bristol with bePractical DIY

If I win the money can go to help work with in Clevedon to support more women to learn a trade properly in safe and supported environment.

Spent the first hour of my morning answering emails from people who’ve had genuinely awful work done on their homes. Charged a fortune, left with a mess, and no idea what to do about it.

I’m sick of hearing it. It’s exactly why the DIY courses exist; not to turn you into a tradesperson, but to make sure you’re never taken for a ride again.
