Mama Bear's Day Nursery Speedwell, Bristol

At our Whiteway Road Nursery in Speedwell we have been supporting our Preschool children with transitions, as they will be starting school in September.
The children listened to some of the school flashcards being read out and each took turns answering them.

At our Whiteway Road Nursery in Speedwell the children enjoyed having a spa day.
The Preschool children took part in yoga, made face/body masks using yoghurt, honey and turmeric and then relaxing with hot/cold towels and cucumbers; whilst listening to calm music.

It was a very relaxing day!

At our Whiteway Road Nursery in Speedwell the Bouncy room children have shown an interest in animals recently.
The animals went out to different places in the jungle but then it was time for them all to go home to their natural habitats.
The children had to help the rhino, giraffe and gorilla find their way back home. The children took on the challenge, using their concentration and focus to find the animals their individual homes.
In the end the Bouncy room children successfully accomplished their mission! They have taken each animal back to their home. Well done everyone and the animals are all happy back home with their family and friends.

At our Whiteway Road Nursery in Speedwell the Preschool children have been learning about Occupations this month.
We created a role play shop, where the children enjoyed pretending to be shop keepers and customers.

At our Whiteway Road Nursery in Speedwell the Preschool children enjoyed finding snails in our garden.
We carefully collected 11 snails and they were all different sizes. The children put the snails into a tray and made them a home with grass, leaves and twigs. The children used spoons to look at the snails and also used the spoons to stop them from escaping out of the tray. The snails were later put back outside in the garden to continue enjoying the rain. 🐌

At our Whiteway Road Nursery in Speedwell the children in our baby and toddler unit have been Dynamic Designers when using flower shaped pipe cleaners and paint to create their own Spring pictures.

At our Whiteway Road Nursery in Speedwell the children in our Bouncy room have enjoyed making some loaves of bread as part of their 'I Wonder About Stories' theme this month.
Our story this week is The Little Red Hen and the Grain of Wheat. The children looked at some flash cards associated with how bread is made and what ingredients are used.
They worked together to make the bread by listening to Kirsty's instructions and support when needed.
Once the bread was cooked, we ate it for our tea and it tasted delicious! 🥖🍞

At our Whiteway Road Nursery in Speedwell we held our Open Day at the weekend.
Thank you to the practitioners for their preparation and support before and after the day.
Also a thank you to the families that attended.
It was lovely to see everyone and enjoy the sunshine together!

At our Whiteway Road Nursery in Speedwell the children in our baby and toddler unit have enjoyed exploring the texture of mud; filling and emptying plant pots as part of their 'I Wonder about Spring' topic this month.

At our Whiteway Road Nursery in Speedwell the Bouncy and Preschool children have been looking after our sunflowers, tomato and green bean plants by watering them daily.
The children have also enjoyed watching them grow from the plants they planted. 🌱
