Chapel arts centre always has a very interesting programme and is always supporting local and up and coming artists as well as artists on tour that may be off your radar.

And it's one of the most beautiful and intimate places to watch a gig in Bath

We are delighted to announce that the amazing Josh Clark will be joining the band and bashing out the phat grooves for us! He has recorded and produced three of our albums, mastered another one and has been our long standing dep drummer for the past 20 years. To say he knows our music inside out is a major understatement. When he is not on the road with us you will also see him out and about with the legend that is Kate Rusby. His first official gig will be on the 19th March at Manchester Folk festival. Welcome on board Josh!

Bath folk thoroughly recommends this duo if Dreamy intelligent folk is your thing. Louis Campbell was the guitarist in the first generation of the Bath youth folk band and was clear that when we met him at the age of 11 he was already talented beyond his years and set for big things. That was a spring board for him to join the national youth folk orchestra and attended residential course at Hallway manor and meet the equal talented Owen Spafford . They hit it off and have been playing together since. Now signed to Real World Records they are playing in Bristol tonight

Over the last decade Bath has become a hotbed of Irish music and session culture, attracting many great musicians to live and visit here and nurturing lots of new talent. This rich environment has seen many great bands forming and you can go out and hear traditional music in it's purist form in informal sessions in the many great music pubs dotted around the city. A new addition to the scene is the Hop Pole recently under new management under the umbrella of Abbey Ales.

There is much music happening there and a new Irish session is launching there this Friday with a view to running once a month from 8pm.

Wednesdays The Royal Oak, lower Bristol road 8pm till close

Thursdays The Grapes, Westgate street 8-10:30pm

Sundays The Ram, Widcombe high street 6:30-9pm

Today's session at the The Red Monkey this afternoon is looking set be very special indeed.

We are sad to see the passing of Adrian Shaw a kind and beautiful man who directed the Towpath choir for many years and encouraged so many people to discover the joys of singing and brought that to so many more listeners. A big pillar of the canal community and had made several performances at the Bath Folk Festival including some very memorable performances at the RUH Bath where we brought the festival to those who couldn't get access to music. He got behind this cause whole heartedly. We pay our respects to you on your next Journey

Bath based outlaws rocked 2 stages at Shindig Festival you can hear their members regularly at the great Irish sessions in The Royal Oak and The Grapes Bath

Well The Barton Street Regulators managed to pull off some daring heists between storms at Shindig Festival this last weekend with reports of some of their gang even getting fit some more jobs as far away as Chipenham, Oxford and London in between. While still managing to make time for some great Hootenannies.

After the great flood most of the members escaped, but it was rumoured that Whylie Pe**te was seen wandering the valley looking for a horse and some phone charge and sleeping in Random cars and eating Rats to survive.
