We celebrate Pride Month every June.
Pride Month is dedicated to honouring and celebrating LGBT individuals. It originated from the Stonewall riots, a series of gay liberation protests in 1969. The unrest began on 28th June 1969, when police raided the Stonewall Inn, a gay bar in New York, sparking riots and six days of protests.
A year after the Stonewall Uprising, cities across the country held what are now considered the first Pride parades, which were also protests.
In 1978, a gay artist designed the first Pride flag, which initially had eight stripes. This flag was first flown on Pride Day in San Francisco that same year.

Mental Health Awareness Week 2024
Every year, 1 in 4 individuals in the UK will encounter mental health issues, but how many of those individuals are not receiving the assistance they require? More than 2 million people are currently awaiting support from the NHS for their mental health concerns. Mental Health Awareness Week was established 27 years ago by The Mental Health Foundation. It presents an opportunity for the entire nation to unite in discussions about mental health, aiming to combat stigma and enhance understanding of not just one's own mental health but also that of others.

This week signifies Mental Health Awareness Week.
Mental health awareness holds significant importance, primarily because of numerous misunderstandings and stigma associated with mental health, resulting in individuals opting to suffer in silence.
Increased awareness encourages more individuals to speak out rather than suffer silently.
