Do you think you’ll get a snowy Christmas this year?! When I was growing up snow at Christmas was a very rare thing. Even if there was snow in the U.K somewhere it rarely fell where we lived. This made the snowy Christmases we did have extra special. I’ve designed this snowflakes so I can have snow every Christmas regardless of the weather (well that’s the idea anyway, I know it is probably a bit of a stretch!). If you’d like to stitch them along with me you can find the patterns in my Etsy shop, available to download instantly: http://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/AppleTreeCrossStitch

Since I’ve had kids I feel the list of things I need to leave the house has got longer and the room I have in my brain to remember them smaller! As long as I have my phone, wallet and keys though I should be alright. If you’re as forgetful as I am this may be the perfect pattern for you. Find it in my Etsy shop, available for instant download: http://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/AppleTreeCrossStitch

Thought that Christmas and rainbows didn’t mix? Me too! But somehow I think it works.

I’m a bit of a planner and I’d say it’s gotten more extreme since I’ve had kids. I already have a drawer with Christmas presents ready for them. If you’re a bit like me perhaps you are thinking about what to stitch for your Christmas tree around about now. I love folk art patterns so I designed these baubles to brighten up my Christmas tree. If you’d like to stitch them for your tree too (or perhaps as Christmas cards) you can download them instantly from my Etsy shop.

After designing a mandala for CrossStitchers current issue I had them on the mind. Here is another one with a slightly different vibe for you. Unlike my first design this mandala has no backstitch so if you’re someone who prefers working in whole stitches only then this one is for you. I’ve designed this to be one of four (one for each season) so watch this space for the other three. I shall be watching it with you as I am yet to design them yet!
If you’d like to stitch this design you can find it in my Etsy shop:http://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/AppleTreeCrossStitch

And just like that the September issue of CrossStitcher is out. I hope you like my mandala design that features in it. I debated for a long while whether or not to design this pattern with backstitch. I think the backstitch does help give the pattern definition so I’m glad I went with it for this one. If backstitch isn’t your thing though fear not! I have just started of designing a series of mandalas made up of full cross stitch only. I’ll share them with you soon.

It’s so hot in the UK today (it got up to 37C where I live today) that it feels appropriate to sharing these designs of animals that are much better suited to the heat than me. They are a grown up take on nursery decor and would help to brighten up the room of any future zoologist. Available in the current issue of CrossStitcher magazine.
