You are not alone!
Parenting a child with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) can be overwhelming and exhausting at times, which is why being part of the South Glos Parent Carers community can help lighten the load.
South Glos Parent Carers (SGPC) are the local parent carer forum. As well as drop-in support sessions, they run free online workshops on a range of SEND themes. You don’t need any previous experience of the topics covered in our workshops. You can join in as much or as little as you like.
Booking is essential – a recording of the session will be shared with ticket holders after the event.
At SGPC, the whole team are parent carers, so they truly understand the challenges you face. For more information visit: https://sgpc.org.uk/workshops

Miss Mortell is SO proud of the amazing writing Year 3/4 have been doing! Over the past week, Year 3/4 have been writing biographies about Albert Einstein. We had to research about his life and use all of the features of a biography like organising into paragraphs with subheadings to be successful! These are just a few examples of our super work.😁

Look at all those eggs! Every child and member of staff were given a yummy, chocolate egg today, from the lovely members of One Church. They also came to our Monday assembly, to share why eggs are important at Easter and what they symbolise.
From all of us at Parkwall, we want to thank you for your kind donation. We look forward to enjoying them.
Wow! Parkwall is feeling immensely proud and impressed of our Year 3/4 class. Over the past 10 weeks, Year 3/4 have began to learn the ukulele and get ready for a big performance showing off their hard work. Here is a short snippet of our practice run beforehand! A big thank you to all parents and carers who came to watch! 😁🎶

Year 1 finished off learning about measurement with capacity and volume this week. It was our favourite one!
We were comparing amounts of volume and working out how much capacity a container had. We also learned a little bit about gravity when watching the water stream go down the hill.

Officially 'Very Good' in the Modeshift rankings. Good job, Parkwall!

After a morning of decimal work in Maths, beginning to write our biographies about Albert Einstein in English, Year 3/4 earned their class treat of the term! We spent the afternoon dancing, playing games, designing easter posters and decorating our own biscuits. 🤩🍪

Year 2 had a fantastic time taking part in our “Camouflage Competition” the other day! 🦋
As part of our topic, “What do living things need to survive?”, we have been learning all about how camouflage helps animals stay hidden from predators and stay safe in their environments.
We put our knowledge into action by designing our very own moths, carefully camouflaging them around our classroom. We were amazed at how tricky some of them were to spot – we think we did a brilliant job!
Well done, Year 2! 🌿

This week Year 5 had a fantastic Mini Police session to illustrate the effects of alcohol! Some great games and brilliant learning!

Year 3/4 have been practicing division by 100! We used our place value charts and counters to help us recognise that all of our digits move two places to the right. Good job! ➗

The football team did us proud last night at their home match. Winning 7-2! Player of the match was Elliot. Great game team, well done.
