This is finally happening, the government are considering including dyslexia as part of all teacher training courses. This is so important to make sure children get the right support as early as possible and for awareness.

Even better- primary school children could be routinely screened for dyslexia. A big step towards early diagnosis and support. I really hope this government vote in favour of this and make a big difference to so many children’s lives.

Hooray! We have finally moved house and I have a new larger study with more space to play fun and interactive games. Plus more space to carry out dyslexic assessments from home.

I love thinking of new ideas for fun games to play with my pupils. One of my pupils is struggling with blending so these games are brilliant for him.

A spooky week at Bristol Dyslexia Support. Which spider will reach the top of the web first? A good way of practicing letter sounds. My child loved wearing his spider ‘ears’ so the spiders could help him listen to instructions better.

Great tutoring sessions tonight focusing on teaching high frequency words and split diagraphs.
I love making games that my children enjoy so much. They really love the competitive element.

I love these books which go alongside the letter pattern I am teaching. This student really enjoyed using his tracking skills to find words with the split digraph a_e and putting counters on them. Then creating his own physical rhyming string (string, pegs and cups) of a_e words to support reading and spelling. So that we could then whisper the words to each other through the cup. Such fun.
