🌟STAR OF THE MONTH – JULY!🌟

A huge congratulations to our wonderful Phoebe, who has been awarded our Star of the Month for July!💚✨

Phoebe is always such a positive and uplifting member of our team. She regularly checks in with her fellow staff members, making sure everyone is feeling supported and valued, and does such a wonderful job of keeping morale high within the nursery. 🥰

But it doesn’t stop there! Phoebe brings so much fun, energy and enthusiasm to the children’s days. She creates happy, engaging experiences and always goes the extra mile to make sure the children are having the best time while learning, exploring and growing. 🌈🧸🎨

We are so lucky to have Phoebe as part of The Nursery on the Green family, and we couldn’t think of anyone more deserving of this month’s award! 💚

Last Thursday we were incredibly lucky to welcome one of our wonderful nursery parents, who has recently completed their firefighter training, to spend some time with the children. 🚒👨‍🚒

They brought along a fantastic box full of exciting resources to help us learn all about firefighters and the important role they play in keeping our communities safe. The children enjoyed exploring pop-up fire engines, fire engine puzzles, story books, role-play resources, and lots of other hands-on activities that sparked their curiosity and imagination. Our very own Amy even tried on the real uniform.

Our special visitor also talked to the children about fire safety in a fun, age-appropriate way. Together, they discussed what firefighters do, how they help people in emergencies, the importance of smoke alarms, and what to do if there is ever a fire. The children asked some brilliant questions and were fascinated to learn more about the equipment firefighters use and how they keep themselves safe while helping others.

Experiences like these help to bring learning to life, encourage confidence when meeting real-life community helpers, and develop the children's understanding of the world around them.

🌿✨ End of Term Celebrations✨🌿

As another wonderful term comes to an end, we would like to wish all of our term-time children and their families a fantastic break filled with fun, laughter and special memories together. ☀️💚

We would also like to say a very special farewell and good luck to our term-time children who will be starting their exciting new journey at school and pre school this September. 🎒🌈

It has been such a pleasure watching you grow, learn and develop during your time with us. We are incredibly proud of everything you have achieved and we know you will shine as you take this next big step. Remember, you will always hold a special place in The Nursery on the Green family. 💚

We hope you all enjoy your summer break and make lots of wonderful memories with your families. We look forward to welcoming our term-time children back to nursery on ✨Monday 7th September✨for another exciting year of learning, exploring and creating special moments together. 🌻✨

☀️Keeping Cool and Enjoying the Sunshine☀️

The warm weather has given us lots of opportunities to enjoy our garden and make the most of the sunshine. The children have loved spending time outdoors, enjoying fresh air and exploring a variety of activities while keeping cool and comfortable.

We have been making sure we stay safe in the sun by playing in the shade, wearing our sun hats, applying suncream regularly and remembering to drink plenty of water throughout the day. 🧢💧

The children especially enjoyed having their morning snack as a picnic in the garden, creating a lovely opportunity to relax, chat with friends and enjoy our surroundings while eating together outdoors. 🌳

Our water play has also been a big hit, with lots of splashing, pouring and experimenting to help us cool down while supporting children’s curiosity, creativity and learning.

It has been wonderful seeing the children enjoying the sunshine safely and making special memories in our garden. 🌈💦

🔨🌿 Exploring Tools Through Risky Play🌿🔨

Last week, Christine brought in her tools to help put together some exciting new chalkboards for our garden. The children were fascinated by the drill and loved watching how it worked. With careful guidance and supervision, the children even had the opportunity to have a go using the tool themselves.

At Nursery on the Green, we understand the importance of managed risks in play. Experiences like this allow children to build confidence, develop problem-solving skills, practise hand-eye coordination, and learn how to use tools safely and responsibly.

It was wonderful to see the children’s curiosity, concentration and excitement as they explored something new. We can’t wait to see all the creative ideas they bring to our new garden chalkboards! 🌈✏️

⚽🌍 Getting into the World Cup Spirit!🌍⚽

Our children have been embracing the excitement of the World Cup over the last few weeks through a fun and active football painting activity! 🎨⚽

Using their gross motor skills, the children kicked footballs into the goals, creating colourful masterpieces with every kick. Not only did this activity encourage physical development, coordination, and balance, but it also gave the children the opportunity to work together, cheer on their friends, and celebrate every goal scored!

There were plenty of smiles, laughter, and teamwork as everyone joined in the fun, proving that sometimes the best masterpieces are made through play. 🌟

🌻Our Sunflower Update!🌻

A few months ago, for World Down Syndrome Day, our children planted sunflower seeds to celebrate how everyone grows, learns, and flourishes in their own unique way.

We're so excited to share an update on their beautiful sunflowers! 🌻 We've loved seeing how they have grown, both here at nursery and in our children's gardens at home. Each sunflower is wonderfully different, just like the children who planted them.

These gorgeous blooms are the perfect reminder that we all grow at our own pace, in our own way, and that's something to be celebrated. 💛

A huge thank you to all of our families for sharing your sunflower photos with us. We love watching our nursery community continue to grow together.

🌟Employee of the Month – June🌟

This month's Employee of the Month is, once again, our wonderful Manager, Sammy!💚

Although Sammy felt that someone else was more deserving of the award, the team wanted to take this opportunity to recognise everything she does for us.

Throughout the recent heatwave, Sammy worked tirelessly to ensure that both the children and the staff were safe, comfortable, and well cared for. She was incredibly understanding of everyone's individual needs, always checking in, offering support, and going above and beyond to make sure the nursery remained a happy and nurturing environment despite the challenging temperatures.

Her kindness, dedication, and selfless approach never go unnoticed. Sammy is always there for our children, families, and team, and her hard work makes a difference every single day.

This award is simply a small token of our appreciation for everything you do.

☀️ Keeping Cool at Nursery on the Green!💦🧊

With the warmer weather upon us, we've been making sure our children stay happy, safe and cool while continuing to enjoy lots of fun-filled learning experiences.

The children have loved exploring water play, investigating ice and discovering how it melts, providing plenty of opportunities for sensory exploration, scientific curiosity and imaginative play. These simple activities encourage children to ask questions, experiment and learn through hands-on experiences, all while keeping refreshed in the sunshine.

To help everyone stay comfortable, we've also been making good use of our fans, ensuring our indoor spaces remain cool and providing regular opportunities for the children to rest, rehydrate and enjoy quieter moments throughout the day.

At Nursery on the Green, our children's wellbeing is always our top priority. By adapting our activities during the hotter weather, we can continue to provide exciting learning opportunities while ensuring everyone stays safe, comfortable and has lots of fun.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿Creative World Cup Fun at Nursery on the Green!❤️🤍

Our babies and toddlers have been embracing the excitement of the World Cup by creating their own interpretations of the England flag using red paint and paper plates.

As the children carefully painted their designs, they enjoyed exploring colour, texture and mark-making while developing their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Activities like these encourage creativity and allow even our youngest learners to express themselves in their own unique way.

We love finding fun and meaningful ways to celebrate events happening around the world, helping children feel part of the excitement through hands-on, age-appropriate experiences.

We think they did a fantastic job—come on England! ❤️⚽🤍
