Nobody warned me that returning to work after maternity leave would feel like arriving somewhere you used to belong and no longer quite fitting in.

I sat at my desk and felt like a stranger in a place I used to know. The confidence I had before just... went quiet. I was just ‘mummy’ and didn’t know how to be anything else.

It is why I started My Maternity Coach. Because that feeling deserves to be talked about, not pushed through alone.

When you went back to work after maternity leave did anyone ask how you are feeling? How are you? Or ask about your emotions at all?

Wondering how this is currently handled as I seem am talking with a lot of people who simply do not know how to handle this process!!

Quick question…if one of your friends said this to you…what would you say to them?

I am genuinely interested because the way we talk to our friends is entirely different to how we would approach this kind of conversation with ourselves!

Things may feel hard but Mamma, you have got this!!

Being a working mum is HARD
Having a baby is HARD
Going back to work is HARD
Maternity leave ending is HARD

What can you doTODAY to help you feel like a human being again…and not just a mum!!

Here are some tips you can implement today!!

Play a game
Walk in nature
Do something to remind yourself you are a kid at heart
Sit down with your favourite sugary drink
Crank your favourite tune up and have a sing along

These are simple things that can help mums to remember that you are a human too…your happiness matters!!

For those who I have not met before. I am Zoe- hello!!
