What have St Peter's Nursery been up to this week?
Over the last 4 weeks our focus books have been all about the seaside, the ocean, pirates and mermaids. This has been perfect with the lovely sunny weather we have had. We enjoyed lots of water play, we've made our own ice lollies, created junk modelling sea creatures, journeyed aboard 'The Scurvy Pete' pirate ship looking for treasure and visited 'The Mermaid Salon' inventing some beautiful hairstyles. At the playdough station we have explored tropical scented playdough and natural resources such as coconuts, shells and lemon/lime slices. We have furthered our Maths skills by creating repeating patterns with ice cream scoops and subitising dotty fish. We loved taking part in sports day and had an emotional celebration afternoon, sharing our Nursery journey with our grown ups.

Reception and KS1 had a fantastic trip to Noah’s Ark Zoo, where they enjoyed two engaging workshops linked to their learning about animals. Throughout the day, the children saw a wide variety of African and farm animals and had the opportunity to learn more about their habitats, diets, and characteristics. Despite the wet weather, the children remained enthusiastic and had a wonderful time exploring the zoo. It was a valuable learning experience, and the children certainly deepened their knowledge of the animals they have been studying in their curriculum.
